Want to get ID7/8 running on TP and want to invest in a wheel.

Ive seen the following mentioned:
Driving Force GT
G25
G27
Thrustmaster ??? (which thrustmaster)

Wondering which one would be closest to arcade feel.

Thanks in advance!

In terms of FFB, IDAS games are really quite simple so any of those wheels are capable of reproducing the forces. The difference is, none of those wheels have rims that have the same diameter and weight as the arcade version, and that's where the difference in feel comes from. If those 2 things are really important to you then I'd get Thrustmaster because you can swap out the rims quite easily. Which wheel base - it just comes down to your budget and whether you are gonna use the wheel for more serious racing sims.

None of them are close to arcade feel I would reckon. Maybe Thurstmaster in theory if you get a bigger wheel, but I couldn't say for sure personally.

In addition still a lot of interpretation in the FFB we have in TP D8, cos even though we have the signals coming from the game, a lot of what the arcade wheel does in detail is not known to the maker of FFB Plugin since he doesn't have access to an actual D8 cab and relies on a few of us cab players to just describe what happens. Add that to the different FFB systems used in different wheels as well as the rim size, and if gets complicated.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just get the one that makes the most sense budget wise to you.

Hi all! Let's say that I recently discovered Teknoparrot and decided to dust off my Logitech G27 to play the Initial D games. The problem I have is the control with the ID6 (D4 and D5 have worked perfect, I have not tried others yet). With very little you turn the wheel, the car goes side to side and is unplayable. I've searched and searched but can't find a solution. I have tried tons of adjustments, from the degrees of rotation of the steering wheel to programs, adjusting the dead zone, trying to play with a gamepad, etc ... but nothing works. Then I saw this forum and a possible solution (SonicSP's oversteering fix), but the links are down. Please could someone give me a solution to the control? I don't care if they are functional links to the oversteering fix or another solution that allows me to play under normal conditions. Thank you very much in advance.

SOLVED!! Here the solution for if it helps someone...

I´ve discovered that the degrees of rotation can be reset using a combination of buttons.
Hold on the two middle red buttons in the shifter + one of the upper buttons for:

X/Square - 450º Degrees
Y/Triangle - 240º Degrees
A/Cross - 900º Degrees (default)
B/Circle - 670º Degrees

I'm glad you found a solution to your problem but I'm still not sure how resetting the degrees of rotation with buttons combos solved your problem when trying out many different degrees of rotation in the Logitech program was one of the things you tried when asking the query?

But hey if you re good with it, that's cool. Have fun with tjhe game happy.gif

Most IDAS games use 540 as the degree of rotation in the arcades
The D0 games reduced this to 270. So usually its good to try these and then adjust it until your preference with the Logitech program for G27.

IDK why, but, by default, my wheel when starts, it´s locked to around (200-270??) degrees. No matter how many degrees I program in Logitech software over 2?0, it´s always 2?0 locked... With less degrees, works ok, that's why I didn't noticed the problem before. Never needed up to 900º to play. Turned off FFB and I noticed that up to a certain degrees it was going well, without resistance and then I noticed the resistance to turn the wheel, but I didn´t care about it.

Now, with this method, now I can set the degrees of the wheel truly to play flawlessly Initial D games and many others. I have been able to verify that there are quite a few people with the same problem.

Hope to explained myself ok, because english is not my first language

Try uninstalling the Logitech software, then reinstall it when you wheel is not connected to the PC.

Some Logitech software has an error where the wheel settings won't be saved after you change it.. This happens if the wheel was connected when you first install the logitech program.

I´ll try it. Thank you! As far I can remember, I´ve installed the drivers with the wheel connected... facepalm.gif

Oh yea! Reporting back in with the music mods!

I finally managed to get it working without any issues smile.gif
http://www.dubaicallgirlsinuae.com/

I think the audio levels are still a bit too high and I noticed that there are some audio files that need to be set to infinite loop (music, for example).

Other than that it's pretty solid and also pretty straight forward once you have used it around 300 times thanks to debugging... tongue.gif

Are you play it in the midnight? I only have time playing in the midnight and there is a stupid Shop closing restriction. Only able to play 1 round and the system will say shop is closing and end the session~ Anyway to overcome this?
