what are the 90's "hatchback" civics called then? lol
they certainly arent hatchbacks by definition....

You mean with the split hatch and tailgate? I guess body and function wise they're still hatchbacks, they just open differently. Some stationwagons had backs that opened up sideways.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the 5-door clubman. If you count the Pre-Tundra (Or whatever) suicide doors on the right and the two doors in the back.
