HAZELWOOD, MO (KTVI)-  Authorities have confirmed that missing SIUE student Taylor Clark’s body has been found. They say he was shot to death. His body was found about 400 yards from his car.  Police are calling the death a homicide.

Clark vanished after trying to sell the car on Craigslist. The Major Case Squad has now been called in. At this point, authorities are saying that there is an ongoing investigation and they will likely hold a news conference later this morning.

Clark`s red 2007 Nissan 350Z was found Tuesday evening in the parking lot of a truck driving school on Missouri Bottom Road in Hazelwood. Clark, 19, from St. Jacob, was last seen Monday morning in Glen Carbon by his girlfriend. Before disappearing, investigators from the Madison County Sheriff`s Department say he finished taking his final exams at SIUE and had already paid his tuition for next semester in full.

I always meet in public spaces in broad daylight with people around. It looks like a drug deal, but at least there are witnesses.

This brings up an interesting conundrum...

If you are selling a car on CL, for example, what would be the safe way of granting a test drive?

CCW permit if allowed in your area?

Going on the police-station-meetup idea, maybe let the potential buyer drive around the station? If you're that concerned about someone stealing it, that's about the best you could do, I think.

Haven't thought of that, but the guy can just drive off at that point too...

Yeah, but at least it wouldn't take as much effort to catch him/her.
