Ever since I got the truck, It's bold styling and huge size indicates it's a torque monster, right? No.

So here's the problem.

After setting it to D and drive, the Holset's supposed to kick in at 1700 RPM, right? Well, I could only feel the engine instead. Here's what I tried. I went to a normal gas station (which, by the way, had no Ultra-Low-Sulfur No.2 Diesel, just Regular No.2 Diesel, damn the economy dry.gif ) And filled it up. I know this could drop engine life, but oh well. And still no response from the Holset. This time, I took it for granted and went to a ULSD pump (which....some guy in a Ford along with a 5th wheel trailer pulled up and made me want to feel sorry for him and his lame-ass PowerStroke) and filled it up. Again, no response, but hey, got 5.43 cheaper and a 6.3 MPG rise! laugh.gif

I tried adding some weight, and here's the number list.

Me=210 lbs (jeezus! blink.gif )
Bro= Somewhere between 150-180
Dad= Somewhere between 160-200
Bedliner= 50 lbs
Some other gear= 120+ lbs

That, however, didn't do the trick of forcing the Holset. And it ridiculously dropped to 16.2 AVG MPG, before, 20.1 AVG MPG.

Now I'm completely out of ideas. sad.gif

Wait.... are you trying to get the turbo to spool, or are you trying to improve the gas mileage? You began talking about one thing and ended up talking about another.

Trying to spool up the Turbo,

Sooner or later, I'm taking the turbo out. It feels useless even though its an Auto and trying to rev it ain't going to work.

I'm sure the turbo is working just fine. What I'm wondering is exactly what you're trying to achieve by spooling it. If you're expecting the truck to run past by like a turbocharged sports car, then you don't really understand how the settings on that truck differ to those on a sports car.

Anyhow, reply again and tell me exactly what is it that you're expecting the truck to do, and I'll do my usual "explanation spam" from there. happy.gif

It has to be his "Mizuki-chan" truck. Unless he bought another truck after having the other one for such a short amount of time.

I think she's already broken in.... whistling.gif

I don't know, I'm planning to call them to see what's the total amt. of miles until she does.

OT: Reason why the truck is named Mizuki-chan?
I used to have a friend named Mizuki Fugusawa, both me and her used to like trucks, hell, we always play with those toy electric jeeps. Few days later, she fell in....oh god, finishing this makes me depressed. sad.gif This is pretty much why I named it after her, just to remember the good times. happy.gif

back in my day, we looked at the boost guage... but you seem to just be talking about "feel". do you even have a boost guage? who says you can feel the turbo, it's a turbo diesel, the turbo is probably long out of breath before you get up in the revs. it's their to help you pull heavy loads, not a couple of people. i know, it's crazy, but that's why it is a truck, and not a sports car *gasp*.

i'd bet its working just fine. if it really bothers you that you can't feel it, go to autozone, buy a cone style intake setup, and then you'll at least be able to it spooling when you are pulling heavy loads.

Either that, or...

A- Swap another ISB/ISC engine from this:
user posted image
B- See if adding another Turbo (That withstands the punishment of a Heavy Duty Truck) works....
Or C- Try the Tow/Haul OD OFF button that I found out today...

I'm still waiting for JZX to reply to my original question quite a few posts ago, though VRr1FD did me the favor of typing out what it would've taken me 5 paragraphs of explanation and examples in just a few simple sentences.

JZX, did you at least call the dealer like you said you were gonna?

Well, they told me it took 1500 miles to break in, and before I made this topic, 1629 Miles already on it.

Anyways, I found about the culprit.....

Wrong type of oil. No wonder it felt too powerful.

So we went out and got SAE15W-40 Delo 400 Oil for Heavy-Duty Diesels.

That did the trick.

And to help this abomination of problems....

Whoa! Wrong Forums! happy.gif;;; gomenasai

Damn this atrocity of Firefox!

Anyways, I found out my Stock Air Intake was facing the wrong way, I don't know why!

So sooner or later, I need to make holes in it......
