I tried YesAsia.com but the descriptions were not very good and I couldn't find the DVD 3 Disc sets for Stage 1 and 2.

Go to Japanimation.com. Stage 1, and 2; 3 disc DVD sets are only around $45 each.

I'm pretty sure they do 2 day shipping too.

You don't want those, those are bootlegs..

I recommend you wait until Tokyopop publishes official DVDs, if you want _legal_ DVDs with english subs, that is.

Butchering?
How are they butchering the DVDs?
You get the dub _plus the sub_ on the same DVD. How is that "butchered"? smile.gif

These are boxed sets in DVD format. The movie is a two disc set in DVD too. All three stages are in Japanese with English or Chinese subtitles. My girlfriend even bought one of these sets in Japan.

How can these be bootlegs?

if the DVDs have no regional code then they r probably bootlegs from hong kong. the official DVDs from japan would have a DVD regional code of 2. and they r way cheaper than buying the actual japanese DVDs.

I had no idea. I didn't think it would be legal for companies to sell those.

this is how they r gonna butcher the initial d DVDs:
tokyopop is only gonna release an english version, with the changed names, and changed music. then later(if they make enough money off the butched dvds) they r gonna release an uncut japanese with english subs. just like Pioneer did with card captor sakura.(but they released the uncut version despite the release of the TV english version)
