for me, it's because the only way to overtake your opponent in iro is through better cornering. imagine doing the cliff jump and overtake, the feeling is good.

I personally like to drive on Akina even though it can be one of the hardest course to master...because of some of the characteristics of the course. Another track would be Myogi... But I feel all tracks are fun. Except for Iro Reverse...I don't know why but I hate that course. Perhaps got lamed too many times on that course... Miss Usui and Akina Snow though... |

IDW Member Group: Members Posts: 28 Member No.: 32,238 Joined: Mar 17th 2009 Location: Update Profile | Akina (90% played) i like akina coz of the different approach of the linings i got almost 2 same timings for same cps for different linings at different speed and braking points. i have finally able to maintain some of my cps thanks to the trial and error of all possible linings (there are aways better lines) but i lack control, sometimes miss all linings. well 2nd course could be lake akina... (5%) coz of the lining to take also... i learnt my control and lining over there when i started playing ID5 because i was banging all over at akina when i started my 1st map iro would be a good map: (2%) most of the brakings are learnt over there. agaki:(2%) the rest 1 or below 1% coz i didnt play much except for story mode... but think quite a ok timing coz i can win the story mode for as far as i can remember. |

IDW Member Group: Members Posts: 13 Member No.: 32,231 Joined: Mar 16th 2009 Location: singapore / east malaysia | im my opinion . battleground doesnt means favourite map . batterground like akina dh . its easier to win on boost on battles . and i might mess up the overtaking corner in happongahara reverse during boost on battles . i think you all know what i meant . need consider overtaking corners due to too strong boosts . so i believe favourite battleground doesnt means favourite map. btw my fav is akina dhd. BGM 08. chemical love |

IDW Supremo Member Group: Advanced Members Posts: 810 Member No.: 5,953 Joined: Mar 4th 2005 Location: Update Profile | Akina is the best map to learn the game physics imo, followed by iro. Akina allows you to practice your wheel control and brake points since the straights are so long but with enough curves in them that you need to watch your lining. Iro teaches you how to use your brakes and force the car to turn sharp corners with minimal steering. It also shows you the difference between holding down the brakes compared to simply degas-sing with regards to how the car handles through the turn. Happo and Nagao sucks, its nowhere near the level of fun-ness the old Happo and Shoumaru had, which was a high speed ,1 perfect line blazing through tight consecutive corners with full acceleration in top gear. Now its more like accelerate brake hard accelerate brake hard rinse and repeat, if someone had to drive like that in real life they'd be puking all over the dashboard. *nods furiously* there is something about braking and throttle precision coupled with steering precision that thrills much more than the full throttle steering flicking of the old.

IDW Prime Member Group: Advanced Members Posts: 695 Member No.: 32,210 Joined: Mar 15th 2009 Location: Singapore | yea, akina & akagi is rather boring to me. (Full throttle, sees corner, brake brake brake, guide the steering wheel for best line etc). the gutters are fun though. as for nagao & happo, if u know how to play them well, it feels good |

IDW Full Member Group: Members Posts: 41 Member No.: 32,357 Joined: Mar 26th 2009 Location: Singapore FTW! | Personally these are my ranking for technical difficulty for maps (From hardest to easiest): 1.Nagao 2.Happo 3.Tsukuba 4.Akina and Akagi (ard the same) 5.Myoji and the Lakezzzzz Sorry for not including Iro, I know it has the most hairpin and steepest corners and even the jumping off the cliff thingy. Still I find it not good for battling because it end up in a scrapping ass or wall scrapping matches which is kinda boring. And everyone know to have good timing for Iro means to have slow conering with good lining which kills the fun of the map. Nagao has to much corners which requires lots of braking so whoever have stable cars should hit on this map more often. Akina is fun I have to admit and the homeground to the great AE86 no wonder so many people love it. Tsukuba is great for cars with great acceleration and decent control if you love to see your car moving at top speed should hit on this map more often. Not forgetting the famous gutter trick which is generously available in many of the turns in this map. Myoji and Akina Lake I hate most cause its a map for fishing and they are relatively easy compared to other maps. Dont get me wrong, all maps require skills to reach a good timing, just that some maps are bad to be chosen for battles. |
