Would having a spoiler and/or a carbon fiber hood actually help the performance of a FWD car at all?

CF hood = lees weight.... but mostly riceboys have em. If a person were to get one.. they should paint it... even if it would cost a bit extra to do so. But they do lower weight. Spoilers can help keep the rear from getting loose... but not the aluminum pieces of crap riceboys use. You shouldnt ever need a wing that doesnt come from the factory, and even if you get one, it wont help you much unless you spend hours testing it for maximum downforce.

yeah, carbon fibre is way lighter than steel, you will find that japanese GT500 cars are almost totally composed of carbon fibre. Well, the body pannels are, not the engine and stuff obviously

CF hood=less weight, always good. Spoiler, the right one can be really good. Spoiler for an FF car............. if you have it on the front, WHITCH I have seen, then it will benifit.

well you can have front spoilers(the front valence/bumper produces downforce) so that would help a FF

CF.....I dunno...in my eyes CF is just sho if you've got like 18" rims on....

I'm one of those few pplz that like the smaller size rims....the 16X7/17X8 rims are for me. if you get CF and get big ass rims then you've just defeated the purpose of getting CF. those huge ass rims add lotsa weight. and cuz you're ff you're kinda under powered and you wanna keep the weight to a minimum.

so if you gonna have huge ass rims then go for the spoiler..if you gonna keep decent sized rims then go for the CF hood. I don't really care if you paint it or not tho..just personal preference there.

CF hood is lightweight and durable as everyone says. Paint or not, just make sure you get some pins if it's very light and your car is running over 180 miles per hour.

Spoiler however claims to do some put some downforce and reduce drag HOWEVER, we do not have to argue over that since that discussion is endless.

But a spoiler also helps balance the car weight distrubution. Since a FF has weight and the engine mounted up front, a spoiler on the rear end helps balance it a bit.

cf is durable???

erm.....if you get in an accident wif a cf hood then there's no way in hell that it'll survive even if it's not that bad..that's why body kits are usually made of fibre glass and not carbon fibre

yes carbon fiber is a light weight material used to replace heavy parts so the car is lighter. yeah, riceboys use it a lot to make their car look good with multiple colors. the most common i see is yellow body with carbon fiber hood so yellow/black.

this particular one is pretty discraceful because its a Mercury Cougar and i HATE those cars. they actually look a lot like the current Celica SS-II
heres a riceboys Civic Hatchback

this rice rocket looks a lot like my neighbors ricer. this one also includes the aluminum wing a long with the CF hood. a spoiler can increase downforce if large enough to catch enough air and spoilers can also increase air flow and stabability.

depends on the spoiler too.

the BMW E30 M3 evolution III spoiler is fully adjustable and will cause downforce at lower speeds too. so it's all dependant on the spoiler.

proper spoilers from the factory or a proper tuning workshop are effective, however those $20 aluminium things will do nothing

Lol, if you get into any accident i'm sure any hood doesn't last.

Fibreglass tends to crack depending on your bodykit. Manufactures don't make CF bodykits because they're expensive. But...take a look at this.

http://www.btinternet.com/~honda.mini/hybr...ds/Bodywork.htm

and I believe the HKS altezza uses a carbon fibre bodykit i heard somewhere.

this spoiler wont get you anywhere. this is a home made wing. WTF WAS HE THINKING?! This thing is about 6ft tall and 100lbs. HE EVEN WROTE TYPE R ON THE SIDE! LMFAO! a racers nightmare is a ricers dream. atleast hes parked next to a nice red 240SX. a full sheet of wood is on the top even. and this is attached at an angle at the base. this was certainly one dedicated ricer.

I would laugh if the wing hit a powerling while he was driving around and the driver got electrocuted!
