QUOTE (vvalentine @ Nov 23 2002, 02:47 PM)
(YES, even some do disagree, you CAN drift with an FF).

even though u can slide an FF and make it look like its drifting its not really drifting.

(its fun finding old topics) im totally with karasac on this. I have no drifting experiance but have learned well about it from people like karasac. The reason FF's cant drift is because everything is going on in the front and while the car is trying to be controlled its also just pulling the car straigh again and the rear does whatever it wants to its just sliding so we call that an "ass slide" An FF drift is in a way very similar to what would happen if you try drifting through an entire turn with the emergancy-brake. The back does whatever it wants to do.

With FRs the front is used onto for control and the rear "slides" but its a controlled slide and is pushing the car through the turn somehow while sideways "drifting" through the turn and thats how the term "drift" came in. Drift-King can just slide a FF car very well making it look so good that it will look like a drift.

. I was expecting to see more intelligent people discussing about FR cars, Silvias, JX90 Chasers, C33's, sr20det's, LSD's, rallying, Impreza, suspension, and the fun stuff. I can't believe people on this forum havent realized that FF can't drift.

w3rd, chasers rock the house!!! although i didnt think there was THAT much stuff about FF's on here.

Start out with tires and rims

lmfao. umm starting off with rims is just a waste of money. thats something a ricer whould do. if your really surios about drifting you whouldnt even buy rims. and saying that were all into made japanese cars, well unless you want to ship a japanese car from japan and get the dmv to register it for us then go right ahead. but intill then i guess were going to have to stick with american made japanese cars(only speaking for the people who live in america). I think you should learn how to drift better before you come in here and start talking like you know every thing. and oh by the way silvia and sr20det's are the same thing. thiers your hint of the day. and if you have every driven the NSX R and the Euro Accord are the JDM Integra Type R, you whouldnt be calling honda shit. THe drift king himself likes the Type R and thought the handling was great with all three of those cars. thats just my 2 cents on you.

silvias and SR20DETs are NOT the same thing, u moron, the SR20DET is the engine that the silvia has! Get you facts right before going around acting like u know everything.

Dont know why a drift king would like the Type R, great car, no doubt, but not the best for drifting.

Whoa big guy. NSX is a good car, just way too much for what you get. Integra Type R awesome race car, but not for drifting. Accord........... just never liked them tongue.gif Never said they were :shit" just not good for drifting. So next time you decide to shoot your mouth off and try to sound like a big man, don't. Simple, no?

Just to reply on this one. But the Euro Accord (Euro meaning "Euorpe, Euorpean") is as a matter afact AWD. The man is correct about that. But since the United States does not want to go out of its way and make it for use or bring it to or shores, we will never see the Euro Accord, sorry guys.

nope, AWD isn't good for drifting, FR all the way!

TofuDriftAE86, you need to CHILL! I know calling people a bunch of fags on a forum boosts your ego, but don't do it on this forum. Did they ever mention an NSX, Integra Type R, or Euro Accord in Initial D? No, these are all facts/opinion that I have based on research, disscusions, and just general knowledge I have obtained over the years.

Anyone,

Do I get all my info from a cartoon? No, I've been racing since I was 14, got a Eagle Talon when I was 16 and started racing auto cross then.

Goddamnit 86drifter! I knew no good was gonna come out of bringing this topic back to light! >_<

maybe all the cars you mentioned were not as well known back then as they are now
maybe they weren't even produced then? i dunno...

and the nsx is too expensive to be in a street racing with cars beside each other by a few inches...
integra... they already had an ff car to use in the show... i think they already got their point across with that...
the euro accord... have no idea really about that car... i have no suggestions laugh.gif

Hey TofuDriftAE86!

You said LSD in your opening rant, but why didn't you include it on one of the first things you need on a car to drift? In my opinion for drifting, a LSD is the most important addition to any FR.

The LSD gives way more control during a drift!!!

yea soo that's basically it for now. Don't do anything too stupid.
By the way i found a clip of someone trying to drift an FF car and here's what it looks like:

I saw that film. But FR's do the same thing when they lose control or cant do the drift properly.
