Try putting the game on easy, through the options.
Either that or use this for a example.

Just keep practicing. When I first started I thought Tomo was really hard and I was frustrated, but I just learned not to wall rape and just make a good, clean run on the course. If you learn to do that, then you can beat him.

To me Bunta isn't really hard compared to Special Stage and Street Stage. In those versions you really needed to have skill in order to beat him.

Look me up on Youtube; my Youtube channel is talilgangstaboi, or you could search up K0oanz vs. Bunta Fujiwara. In the video I beat him with a stock AE86T. You can also look at the IDES video thread in the forum to see the video.

It may also be that you are using a controller. Driving with a wheel is different than driving with the controller, since you have more control over the movement of your car. Sometimes when I use the controller and I make a turn, I feel like the game is doing the turn for me because I only have to move the left analog stick a little bit to complete the turn.

Well i actually decided *shudders* to use the break and yeah bunta was easy my time for akina is like 3:15 or something with a controller i have a momo wheel but its absolutely terrible for this game so i'll stick with a controller it's not worth me spending 200$ on a wheel really since i only play my ps3 when im eating lunch

Well you are supposed to use the brake in this game? awesome.gif The physics are different from versions 1 through 3. Ohh okay, but the Driving Force GT costs around $140.

Posted by: Rogar Apr 16 2011, 07:58 PM
I honestly always thought Takumi was harder, since he tries to pass you right away.

Posted by: takumizim Apr 17 2011, 04:37 AM
Nah i was nothing, why do you think is hard to battle with me?i just only using gutter tehnik and blind attack, thats all.Maybe u should only use gear 3 until finish so i can gain more points and you will win.

The more braking, the more you win, think that as conclusion.I mean by entering the corner, not the straight line.

Haha, I am rusty right now awesome.gif not in the video. I took a little break from IDES because I have a lot of things to do for school and I got a little frustrated with IDES; I couldn't beat my time on Tsukuba no matter how hard I tried... I'll play this weekend though and try to beat it again. I'll be online around 1 AM PST. My PSN is K0oanz.

We definitely need to have a few races once you're back! biggrin.gif

Also, as far as beating Bunta, from my experience, you really only have to do well on ... I'd say maybe the last half of the course. Obviously that doesn't mean you can go around slamming into walls and driving slow up until then, but I feel like that's where it becomes more important to drive better against Bunta.

I'll just use the video k0oanz posted as an example and try to run through how I'd do it. I'll only start from where I feel like Bunta starts trying to pass you. Keep in mind, I'm far from the best at this game, but I don't really have any problems with Bunta! So here goes:

I'd say from the corner at 1:42 in his youtube video onward. (Or 1:28 if you're going by the in-game timer) Just make sure you brake enough for it. Try to come out of the corner at least going about 130 km/h. You should almost be able to hit top speed on the straightaway after that corner.

For the corner after that long straightaway, you can take it at a really high speed. You do still need to brake before it, but you should be able to come out of the corner at about 150 km/h. Try to avoid the walls since you're going so fast there.

After that comes the hairpins. You're probably going to want to brake a bit before the first one, since you should be hauling ass at that point. If you're going to use the gutters, try not to turn too sharp into the hairpins, or you'll scrape the wall and lose a lot of speed... It's hard to explain, but if you practice them enough, you should find an angle that works. IF your speed drops below 120 km/h, just shift down to 3rd (assuming you're using a 5 speed) and run the car the redline until you come out of the last hairpin. You'll maintain a higher speed that way.

It's not very hard from there on. Just brake enough before that last big curve at 2:51 in k0oanz's video, and you should come out of it at at least 130-ish km/h.

I sure hope that wall of text was helpful and not too confusing. The most important part is make sure you brake enough in the right spots to come out of corners at a high speed, and obviously avoiding the walls. thumbsup.gif

On a final note, your driving doesn't have to be absolutely perfect to win this race, so if you make a mistake here and there, don't give up or restart the race. Even if he passes you, you can still turn it around if you don't mess up too hard.

Very nice explanation happy.gif I'll get online tonight. I'm going to set some new records, I hope. I'll post them in my TA thread.

Hopefully PSN is back up by then. It's been down for a little over a day now.

And yeah, I agree with that. Actually, I wish every race was harder. Even on the hard difficulty, most of them still feel pretty easy.

Please tell me your kidding on wishing the races were harder.

It took me forever to beat Tomoyuki ,I mean I was at the point of wanting to break the controller.

Takumi and Keisuke only took a few tries, then I got to Bunta and well still struggling, but I took a break since then.

I remember Special Stage being fun but not as frustrating.

Well once you get to a certain skill level you will want the races in LOTS to be more of a challenge because it is too easy to beat them. I still have a hard time beating Tomo, but that's because I rarely play on Happo, so I need to get on that.

Before I had a hard time too with Tomo like you did, but it takes time to improve your skills.

Well in Special Stage you didn't have to brake or anything.

Hey sup everyone happy.gif
Bunta was sure a pain in the arse, just the 5 hairpins is what screw me over, but I just finally got my paycheck from work and ordered the Fanatec GT3 RS v2 wheel smile.gif . So it'll hopefully be easier. But im mainly using this wheel for the big boy, GT5.
I beat Bunta twice, but only in medium difficulty ermm2.gif

BTW K0oanz, this is LeonPowolski from youtube. Added you but I highly doubt you got it since the PSN is down sad.gif

Ohh hey happy.gif I think I already added you on PSN, but if I didn't I'll add you the next time I get on the PS3.

I hope I can make time for IDES on the weekends; I'm getting quite busy with school now...

I'll see you all when PSN is back up on its feet. Until then, take care everyone and have a nice afternoon.

Bunta isn't that hard but I guess it's from tuning the car since I have the game(Initial D Extreme Stage The Best) on Medium and I got a full tuned AE86. He tends to be away by 40 meters in Advantage, he passes me after that straight away after the 5 Consecutive Hairpins but I pass him at the 3rd last corner(the one where Takumi pass Ryosuke) and done.
There's a option after the cut-scene, you can watch a ending in a sepia type of your race with Credits and race everybody again(Takumi, Keisuke, Bunta and Tomo are gone until you beat everybody) or select No(Keep the unlockable characters but not highlighted)
