I wish the connection was better though, so I could get more races online and have a better sample. Video quality option is available up until 1080P 60FPS, though personally I recommend 720P 60FPS for the most balanced one while keeping the game'a natural framerate viewable.

IDW Member Group: Members Posts: 18 Member No.: 26,768 Joined: Sep 27th 2007 Location: Update Profile | I'm having trouble being consistent as I play so rarely. I worked on Akagi DH for about an hour and couldn't break 2:45.000. I had always assumed TA/offline battle was not affected by EX tuning; battling with other players here, I could beat their EXFull cars with good technique. Yesterday, due to a sticky pedal, I accidentally bought an EXspec upgrade in the middle of my time attacking. I had over 200,000 pts banked at this point, so I decided to just tune to EX Full. The next run I definitely felt a significant change. I can't tell by how much as my runs continue to be inconsistent, but the car feels easier to turn and accelerates faster. I guess they retired the pre-EXFull leaderboard for a good reason. |

Nagao Fanboy Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,068 Member No.: 36,182 Joined: Aug 27th 2010 Location: The Internet, DUH | To my knowledge, there wasn't a significant change in the leaderboard when ExFull came out and a lot of people tried really hard to see the differences. Not that the top times are necessarily the best measures of this, since they only measure best performances as opposed to average performances. From a statistical analysis standpoint, that's one of the difficulties of measuring things like this since it's hard to tell which parts of it is a placebo effect and which part of is actual improvements in the car or whether it consicides with actual skill improvements which will also result in a stronger time output. Unfortunately without a significant sample size of data to measure we can't run a regression line analysis through a statistical program to know for sure whether it will ever pass the usual statistically significant barrier used in actual scientific studies. Personally I feel I perform better with ExFull but I don't know whether that's just psychological thinking or whether that's because the car is better. Played online battles after full tuning my car, got promoted to A3 after a few races. Seems like there was some kind of special rank up process. Will probably enter the Akina Snow event tomorrow if I have time. Online races have been pretty fun so far. I'm just happy to get an aura on my car now. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

I wish I can experience online battles...my rank would probably be like B1. Today: Had a quick Lake Akina battle with IAMMMM and won via gold boosting; finished some story mode top class. You'll probably get express promoted to A rank too. I'm not sure what you have to do to get it, but being far ahead your opponent when you cross the finish line probably helps.
You must be kidding, your times are top notch and I learned a lot watching you. Had quite a bit of fun watching our Shinn senpai attempt TA, infinity ranked players are truly of a different caliber. This post has been edited by holnivek on Dec 17 2016, 12:19 AM

Lol that would be exaggerating. I'm actually not that great but more of a normal player, the great players are the ones who get those insane world top 10 time and all. I can't brain how they did that, but just learn bit by bit from their video. Oh ya, didn't realize you were local until you mentioned untung lah. Got a sticker and frame out of the event. Played a few players in the Irohazaka event that started today. Most matches went fine, although for some reason I kept getting matched against E-ranked smurfs with hundreds of wins and a few Specialist TA times. It's normal, you will start around there. After few wins, you'll face with players slight higher level compared to yours. Once you go beyond that, server will keep matching you with the top 1-100 event leaders until you lose a certain amount of battles you will remain facing the same ranking players.

Nagao Fanboy Group: Advanced Members Posts: 2,068 Member No.: 36,182 Joined: Aug 27th 2010 Location: The Internet, DUH | It's basically there as a balancing system. Even if you use an E3 card as a highly skilled player, you can't easily pump your way into high ranking in the battle event. The event system is designed in a way that playing with a card rank that fits your true skill is the best way. Lower cards face off with easier opponents at first but they face a cutoff where they start facing hard opponents and get less points than higher ranked cards. Thus if you want to pump to the higher levels beyond the threshold, using a low level E3 card is easily the worst way to do it. The people who are using E3 and getting many points are.......well skilled players who are doing it for the challenge and have a lot of patience. It is not easy at all, and I know because I tried. The first 8000 or 10,000 points on E3 will be achievable for a general skilled player but it tightens up quickly. Soon your profit/loss calculation moves against you and your facing the same difficult opponents as every other higher cards but without earning the same points. It becomes a high risk-low reward proposition. On the flip side, using cards higher than your skill level is bad as well. You get tougher opponents on the get go and you will get clobbered. In the end, you won't get anything with that either. The good thing about higher level cards is that they give out more points so those people who can pump to hundreds of thousands on each events are all doing it with high level Infinity cards - and they have the skills to win a lot at that level. In other words, the most skilled players that play the event a lot will tend to be the ones that are up there. So basically in summary, use as high of a card level as possible but not too high that you get clobbered. That's the best way to maximize your event points. Of course this applies to players of online machines who have a few cards to choose from, which doesn't really apply to your situation but just info on how it works.
