Something of the thing where you could play different platform games on another consol, like PS2 games on DC...The idea flumped soon after it was released, since since it was also made with the DC a bit more in mind, the DC too flumped later on as well around that time period...

bleem was a playstation emulator for DC, with Bleem, you could play most good titles that were 'playstation only', like tekken. With bleem, there was really no need for a PS tongue.gif

If you hadn't already noticed, I still love my dreamcast, and even though it didn't last, I think it had some of the best games in console history.

bleem-cast only played like 3 of PlayStations games though didn't it. Tekken 3, Metal Gear Solid & Gran Turismo 2. Bad thing is, only one game supported by each bleem-cast disc (need bleem-cast Tekken 3 disc to play Tekken 3 on DC, or the MGS bleem disc for MGS on DC).

Dreamcast had it all, Sega made it well indeed. If only they hadn't made so many stuff-ups in their recent past like with the 32X & Sega CD, then maybe DC could of been the leader.

I bought a 32x from big W shortly after the N64 came out, it only cost me $18, and it had a game bundled with it.

I think Sega also did a REALLY REALLY REALLY poor job of marketing the dreamcast, like the only commercials I saw for the DC were some abstract things that did not even show the games, or the console, so unless you already knew what dreamcast was, you would have no idea what it was advertising.

At the same time, Playstation ads were on every 5 minutes, showing their fancy pre rendered cut scenes etc. Not hard to see why it had more support with the general public.

Its probably because sony had more money to spend on advertising than sega.

Sony has become untouchable in console gaming... nobody can compete.
