Since I have it up at RX7 Club I thought I would post it here as well I hope you guys enjoy it I'm not much of a through explaining kind of person so you will be lost in it.
I will post oil picturs later on when i get off work. Boy will i be working alot more hours this winter. Things on my List to do during the cold season. 1. Pull Motor and tear down for Rebuild. 2. Replace Brake Booster, Master, and Slave Cylinders 3. Adjust Clutch and Replace Clutch with a Fresh kit possibly Change Flywheel. 4. Paint car Flat Black Fix up the Engine bay and Get it looking Fresh. 5. Work tons of hours at work to fund this project and possibly add some more goodies later on (Play less Video games and don't eat out so much). Painted my hood Flat black to get rid of the faded clear coat sanded down by hand and repainted with a rattle can fully dried turned out really great and nice and even. I plan on hand sanding the entire car myself and fixing the one dent in the rear driver side that has started to rust and was covered up by a weird dragon sticker some year ago before I owned it. I did fix alot of the Interior lights and I even got the Ringers working for the door and when im low on coolant or oil. need to work on getting the dash light working I think it has burnt out lights but it might just be in need of some rework to get the speedometer working right again as well. gonna try to fix the Seats myself (gotta put those Home Economics skills into practice haha). and try to Restore my dash it only has one crack in it and I think I can fix it it didn't start peeling off to the side or anything but it looks in nice enough shape I can probably patch it up and repaint to look original and not half ass worked in. I really hope I can do this I won't give this car up like I did my first Mazda I have grown very attached to this first gen and its characteristics not that I didn't love my 2nd gen but at that time I didn't know enough and feared I would just break it so I sold it and waited far to long for another one this time I'am ready and I will take this on for a nice decent looking and awesome running car. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So this is what my motor oil is lookin like right now makes me sad. Sitting in my shop with hopes for a good warm firing and that the problem would magicly go away by the Rotary Angels. But dont worry if i work a good 144 hours in the next 2 weeks i can get the rebuild kit purchased and get the motor prepped for removal. I hope i can last that long for the next 12 days because thats gonna be the most hours ive worked in quite sometime. But that crack is from the water pump housing good thing I bought another one off of a parts car so I at least I know where one problem lies and that i can at least replace it sooner then later with a new water pump. I tore it all down in the first 3 hours of getting it home inspected irons and housings. Front housing is garbage and will be used for porting practice. All the Irons were in almost perfect shape just from my understanding of inspecting things on thse motors. So for now I leave you with the torn down pictures of my original motor and now one picture of thw new motor I picked up before I tore it down more pictures will follow of the newer motors parts and Im not gonna lie my original Rotors were twice as clean coming out then theses ones were. | thats lame though the only links I want to make people click on are pictures because who knows what your gonna see =w= plus was planning on moving my thread here as well since I see my self using this forum often enough I have an Rx7 club app not like I have to worry about updating on the website. only thing being copy and pasted after this will be pictures and not like how I already did lol and since I have a nicer shinier phone that takes less potato looking pictures you might not worry so far down the line <3 |

Actually my friend my 83 would be an FB as designated on my cars ID numbers 75-80 were sa22c but 81-85 were FBs from what I have been told. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

| I thought it depends on where you live, and that FB33 just outright replaces the SA22C in North America, because of the 17 number VIN. As I remember: SA22C in foreign markets: 78 - 85 SA22C in North America: 78 - 80 "FB33" in North America: 81-85 |

I think the ass just got a face lift but the front relatively stayed the same out of a lot of the build threads I have seen with the SA22C's the front looks about the same its just the ass that looks different |

| Ordered a few things like a new Brake Booster, Drum brakes, radiator cap, temp sensor, New pulley drive setup, Gasket kit, energy suspension bushings for the whole car. Still need New shocks, master and slave cylinder, and a New clutch,probably source a few more Nikki carbs to do some N\A tuning before I start working on my turbo build again. Dual-belt or gilmer belt setup? Curious because duals will still snap and gilmers make all the right noises. And thanks! I do what I can with what I've got. I've always subscribed to doing more with less and it's easy to see that when you pick apart my cars. Just makes sense to get the absolute most I can out of something before replacing or upgrading it, you know? |

| I've run duel belts for a long time and have never had them snap. The main advantage isn't really a snapping issue, but rather, it is actually damn near impossible to find two belts EXACTLY the same size to make it "correct" One is always slightly looser than the other. The gilmer belts do sound nice though. |

| I can think of 3 guys locally, Grappler included, who've snapped belts on duals on relatively stock kegs. I can't speak from personal experience yet for obvious reasons, but I know the route I'm going, without question, when I do finally pick up an FB. |

| From what I know Both are good depending on how you tension from your alternator really. But from what I have heard Since I bought,the Gilmer set up is that it will withstand quite the power and makes sexy noises but also just swapping to a dual belt system is plenty efficient but if you tension it to much at the alternator you can slip and snap your belts easy or just wear down your alt bearings but that could still happen on pretty much stock But that's scary just thinking about it. Check out my build thread posted in my siggy space for pictures,of it. Only need apex seals the the engine will be ready to go back together but I messed up on my carb rebuild missing a really,tiny bearing for fuel leveling portion so I have to find another one and swap all my rebuilt stuff to it before this car will run smooth. But I was informed by one of the guys Who has been helpings with,most of,my build on the,forums Jeff20B lel love that we have the same name that I would have a lot of noise and attention from this pulley setup (lookin forward to it). | Sunday me and my buddies are getting together and putting the Rex up on stands and redoing all the suspension and brakes on it gonna take lots of pictures for sure will be nice to see how all the old blown shit looks replaced with the new shit. probably do the brake booster and see if I can get it to build pressure with the old master slave before I replace paint my new water pump so it doesn't get all dirty looking from an oil spill later on after the engine is put in. Replace Tranny fluid and Differential fluid since i'm sure non of them have been changed in 34 years I have no old receipts to prove they have so gonna just do it. I look forward to taking lots of pictures and having a good time getting this car safe before the engine gets dropped back in it. |

| Check my build thread for pictures of suspension removed we are cleaning all of it up and repainting them so it looks new under the. Next week engine bay will be finished being cleaned up and ready for New paint battery location will be moved to rear of the car and possible run to seperate smaller batteries for cranking purposes just in case it's cold or if one battery starts to fail the other one can help make up for any missing cranking amps. Got any thoughts or questions? Ps. This car is part of what me and my buddies hope will get our shop off the ground and help with attract customers for any kind of work. | no update on the car thus far but good news I bought a small half ton gas dodge with over 269k about to hit 270k runs perfect used professional scan tools found no codes no strange ticks in the engine and crazy enough not really leaking oil all for $800 from my work place never really drove this POS so never actually got to wonder how it drove at first. anyways I have had it for a week and I have found only 2 reasons to keep it. 1. will make a good spare vehicle for when the mazda is running and I have any parts failures or a tire blow out and need a truck to haul parts or spare tires to fix it or haul it back and drive to work. 2. DRIFT THE GOD DAMN MOTHER FUCKING HELL OUT OF IT BECAUSE IT SLIDES LIKE BUTTER ON THE DIRT AND NO REAL OVER STEER IT HAS EARNED ITS RIGHT TO JOIN MY FLEET!!! I will get some pictures of it up its a very basic truck has a lot of power still and a lot of life left to give still gets great gas mileage and is in pretty decent shape outside and inside minus some outside rust and the cracked dash that is all to damn common in a dodge xDD would love to make a video of it at work but because rules are rules not sure if this counts for dirt roads and or any clearly empty dirt spaces where well no real traffic exists and COPS. |

| Rule probably applies to roads, but not off public roads. A mod would probably have the final say on that. But yeah, that's pretty awesome. I've heard that Dodge pickups are pretty reliable, and pickups in general are cheap and easy to maintain. So, you should have one good truck there. |

| Quite frankly, I personally don't care what you do anywhere. The only rule is that videos of any on-road shenans can't be posted. Talk about it all you want, but be prepared to catch hell if you're being a dumbass, we've historically let community response to that kind of stuff run a bit longer than normal. |

I love that response lol also im not sure which it is but it works well in the off road and im gonna do just that off road the hell out of it. gonna be the first time since my subaru outback am I gonna have this much fun in the dirt.

usually the best way but since I had the trans in first and didn't think about it ahead of time which was before I got this motor from that 3 rx7 deal. but im not to concerned about it now the engine and tras are together and half bolted together right now no use in me wasting anymore time trying to do it all over again. Give me like one more week or 2 and I will fire the car up and see how she runs with this new heart. gonna be a fun re-tuning the carb for stock to drive again. |

Hahaha, I feel ya. A vacuum gauge and a timing light and voila, you've tuned your carb. Unless you drive a Z or similar multi-carb vehicle in which case enjoy balancing your carbs. Still easier for some people than that laptop, but... |

all thats really left is putting the oil pan and radiator in but I broke a bolt like a noob on the oil pan so I have to buy a tap and dye set and take it out but im not in a hurry right so in the mean time I will finish putting the inside of the car back together try to make sure as much of the original equipment works like it use to.  |

I don't think you understood his question. Trust me, you'd need a hell of a lot more than a wideband to tune the injector pulse on a carbeuretor. |

I'm still trying to figure out how so many people at age 22 became mechanics at dealerships but get tricked in by silly questions i'm either to smart to work at a dealer or they just don't want to pay me for my knowledge and experience or because im an asshole and will laugh at someone who tells me they are gonna just throw a turbo on their car without a tune. whatever the reason is its still funny to prank them with carburetor questions.   So I don't sound like an ass when I say experience or knowledge its mainly on commercial diesel but all the same crap to me. once I got into mechanic work I loved it instantly for the sounds of an Engine screaming out horsepower! |

| I'd just like to put out there that while they're grossly inefficiently and stupidly complex, I absolutely love blow-through turbo setups. If nothing else I have to respect someone who is willing to go through the trouble not only to get the turbo working on their carb'd car (a lost art in and of itself) but to actually get it to run properly and decently. I'd never do it on any car I owned, but bravo to those who do in this era of electronics and perfection. |

From a person my age I think it's easy just so long as you have patience and don't rush it. I think the part somebody else would find hard is tuning the carb out for low boost to medium boost on a normally N/A engine. Would be nerve wrecking to someone who has never touched a carb in their life and decided to take on that sort of project. I think the most boost I heard being ran on a fully stock 12A rotary was almost 20psi and it lasted 70k miles before he lost compression but he already had like 100k or something on his engine it will always comeback to good tuning. this is literally what I was given in the way of a turbo setup list Originally Posted by plentymoon All info and items listed credited to Jeff20B Start at 6psi. MSD fuel pump 5/16" send and 3/8" return fuel hardlines under the car Mallory 4309 fpr block off stock Nikki 1/4" return fitting Some kind of carb hat that fits the Nikki -- I fabbed two using the base from the stock blue air cleaner assemblies. I did a 2" inlet tube but I guess Robert at RotaryShack does them in aluminum with a 2.5" inlet. His is a kit with the long stud and an o-ring for sealing at the bottom. About $120 on eBay. Get a wideband. Enough said. I've used an S5 turbo. It needs a 3" down pipe. The rest of the exhaust can be 2.5". I'd recommend it because my current full 3" drones and is anoying to hear over a sound system I recently installed. I'm looking at options right now. Either smaller exahust from DP back, or go NA and test the turbo in a REPU (which frankly could use the extra power lol). |

| Parts-wise it's pretty easy. Really you probably should have sets of jets and e-tubes for the carb, but if you set it up right it can work without that level of tuning. But yes, a rising rate FPR and a decently high flowing low-pressure pump are a must. It's the fine-tuning that can turn into a nightmare. You really have a set amount of fuel that you get from the carb that scales with airflow, but you need more fuel with boost than you do otherwise. Fuel pressure will account for that to a degree, but you need to find carb settings that don't go too lean under boost, while not too rich under vac. Tightropes and things. |

| Well it's like this it's modified to handle boost more efficiently with it tuned out for boost but it's built to work properly both ways when I get it back it will be tuned down to run just over stock but not for boost right off the bat it. If I added a turbo I could easily just tune it for 6psi and still get same fuel mileage 11 in the city and 24-27 on the highway based on your choice of fun. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

| I am back me harties the rx7 project is in full swing once more I got rid of everything else and now focusing only on my Mazda I recently cranked her over today. What's happen since last time? | Just a quick update to this post since I updated my main thread on Rx7club It's been a long time since I've made an update but I still have the Mazda. I have been busy working so time really hasn't been a factor for me but on to some good news I finally got the engine running normal but the Carb is not feeding any fuel what so ever so I had to feed the engine fuel at the same time to get it started but she's firing right and almost stayed running on just a drip feed. I still can't find the rest of my parts for the front end steering and so I never fully put it back together even if I get the car running it won't matter still couldn't drive it. Here's a video of it running the Carb is feeding fuel now so thats taken care of. but it takes so long to get it started I think the timing is still off or it might be brcause I have all my Vacuum ports open.

| well after talking to some of the Gurus I need to plug up all the vacuum and check my ignition because its also firing funny so once I have it all plugged up I"m going to figure whats up with my firing order I might have have them set backwards. |
