Name: Setari

D.O.B: 16/7/87

A New Generation.

Setari was a little boy at an age of 18. He lived in California where the racing scene was starting to heat up. Many racers had gone on top of Mt Hamilton to race down the insane corners of the downhill. Setari loved cars, ever since he was 13. He had been saving up penny by penny just to by himself a car. Any car, as long as it worked, an old hatch back, a dusty convertible and if lucky a sports car.

user posted image this is Mt Hamilton.

It was midnight when Setari woke up.

His parents were still sleeping in their rooms, his older brother at a sleep over. Getting dressed, he walked down stairs. Hoping to find something to eat in the cupboard. Taking the stairs two by two, he ran down the stairs, making least noise as possible.

Setari walked over to the kitchen and opened the old brown cupboard door which opened with a screech. Setari looked around for a minute.

“Damn, were out of cereal.” Groaned Setari scratching is head

Setari closed the cupboard door and went over to the fridge to poor himself a glass of milk.

After drinking it down, Setari walked to the front door and grabbed his keys of the key holder. The brown leather plate that hung off the wall, it had lots of studs poking out perfect to hang keys from.

The keys to his car were chained with his keys to the house.

Opening the door, he walked out of his house, feeling the cool air of the night.

The night was still misty. It had just snowed the other night so the grounds were still a little slippery.

Setari put the keys back into his pocket and lifted the creamed coloured garage door open. Opening it was not an easy feat. The garage door would keep falling down until you pulled it up completely until you heard a click.

Setari laid his eyes on his blue Rx-7 Spirit, a twin turbo rotary engine. The car was brand new, he had just received it, the car was a present from his grand father, an ex road racer.

The car had been tuned by his grand father, Ryuko. The suspension of the car was set to an optimal level. The steering had been tuned for light turning. The brake pads were soft.
The cars weight had been reduced to 1280kg, so that it was just perfect for mountain racing. It had a 13RB-REW engine which was the first ever mass produced sequential twin turbo charger. The turbo was activated at around 4000rpm’s. This was his grandfather’s special tune for cars. It was a road racer legend.

Inserting the keys to his FD, the Rx-7 started with a jolt. Holding the clutch down, Setari shifted up into 1st gear. Taking his feet off the clutch, his right feet felt its way to the accelerator and held it down. The Rx-7 stayed in 1st gear as it drove out of the house.

On the bottom of Mt Hamilton, the blue FD drove its way up the hill. Knowing every turn by heart, Setari steered the turns one by one constantly shifting up and down, slamming the brakes every now and then and releasing the clutch to hear a clunk sound.

They were many tight turns on Mt Hamilton, the crazy turns and then a sudden hairpin would prove fatal if you over steer.

Setari was heading into another run of hairpins. There was a set of turns from left to right and suddenly a tight hairpin to the right. Slamming the brakes and the clutch down with his left foot, Setari shifted down twice and instantly up, keeping in 4th gear, the FD lunged into a drift. Turning left slightly, Setari found that he had to quickly steer to the right again, doing that the FD swung out a drift through the right turn. Biting back at the ground, the FD gained grip on the road for another second until it had to drift into another hairpin.

“Damn, I can never do this turn properly!” yelled Setari quickly shifting down into third

Slamming the brakes as hard as he could, he steered the FD through the hairpin. There was absolutely no grip on the ground as the FD turned, the ground was still snowy. The FD made it through the apex before accelerating. Snow kicked up off the ground, into the side. There was no grip, the FD started to slide out of control.

“Dammit, this isn’t good!” yelled Setari

There was no guardrail behind him on this hairpin, the FD started to slide down, this wouldn’t happen on the downhill, but on the uphill, the turn was really dangerous. Setari held the accelerator down waiting for his twin turbo to kick in.

The engine made a sound that much like a slow running river. The FD stopped sliding and drove up the hill at 4th gear.

“Damn, that was close,” said Setari swiping off his sweat on his forehead “I need to keep a higher gear at the apex.”

The FD parked itself at the peak of the mountain as he waited for a white skyline BNR32.

Setari sat on top of his blue FD staring into the misty sky. Still panicking from the fact that he had almost fallen into the depths of mountain. The air was cold. To breathe it in was an eerie sensation.
