Apparen tly we've got Initial D 0 here in NY for real. I'm gonna go check it out shortly. I doubt well be able to save or make cards or anything - what is it AIME or eAmuse that wont work here?

Let me know if anyone knows more about how to save in 0 or else its basically useless right?

Well I do have an Aime card with D0 data in it all the way from Japan, but you'll need online connection to access the data from server. Basically the card is something like your ID number allowing you to tap onto the platform and it access your profile from the server instead of accessing from your card data like previous ID.

So ya, do upload some pictures here too if you manage to find the news on your side true.

Ya this is why I don't like the Aime and Banana card system, they are cloud based. No connection means no card usage, which in IDAS is a basic requirement.

This is basically an extension of the "Games As A Service" thing Japanese arcade games are adopting, much like how mobile games and some console games are also starting to adapt (though more the former). Features are getting more and more are tied to online services, even when they don't need to be.

Online mutiplayer is one thing but saves are another level entirely. This is to encourage arcades to subscribe to the service and profit sharing agreement, or be left with a shell an expensive machine. Problem is when it is at a place where that's not even possible to use that service, it can bring lots of problems.
