For those interessed, I've updated the Fifth Stage Song Listing thread with the newest download. Wait For You is a weird choice... being a cover and all. Good song but weird choice for Initial D. *shrug*

I nearly spat my coffee right onto my monitor when the song came blaring through the headphones. Seriously, Avex? There are hundreds of songs out there and you guys go and pick Yamin?

Great work as always, Perry. Though I hope IDW doesn't share the same fate as DCTP did..

A number of songs have been released for over two years now on SEB albums. The choice for this particular song covered by ACE is definitely intended to spark those feelings.

If Funimation is smart they'll leave IDW the fk alone.

In the wake of the Tokyopop disaster, the fansubbers are the only reason Funimation still had a consumer base large enough to actually sell the dubs and still make money.

The problem is, we're just as the same as DCTP, and I don't think they took too kindly on what they were doing with Detective Conan (even though Failimation has never continued subbing future episodes.) So I doubt that they'll hesitate. ermm2.gif

Last time I check, Funimation doesn't have the rights for Initial D Fifth Stage. They might in the future, but right now they don't.

This is true. Funimation only has the license to distribute stages 1-4. They have no control over Fifth Stage, as is evidenced when every youtube upload is taken down because of a complaint from Wedge Link, not Funimation.

So please, IDW, stop complaining about Funimation "being foolish" for cutting uploads of this series... because they have nothing to do with Fifth Stage.

Right now I see 18 episodes. 13-14 will be the nsx battle. 15-18 will be ae86 vs ae86 plus ending.

Four episodes for one race? Show me any episode in Fifth Stage where a race even lasted a full two episodes and I might believe you.

Oh wait, there aren't any.

All signs are pointing to 14 episodes only. They did say they will change the ED theme in the half way point for Fifth Stage. The ED changed from CLUTCHO's Flyleaf to m.o.v.e's 夕愁想花 starting in Episode 7. So yeah, I'm 95% sure it's going to be 14 episodes. The remaining 5% is my doubt on how they will wrap it up in two episodes. I hope they will spend the entire Ep.13 for the uphill race and then maybe some buildup before the downhill race, then ends it right before the downhill race or during the downhill race.

Take a small break (3 to 4 months and let Shigeno finishes up with the downhill race in the manga) and then release a movie based on the downhill race and some loose ends stuff. That'd be nice. :-)

From what I heard copyright law applies only when we take someone else's video and subtitles and claim it as ours. Just because funimation is licensed they can't claim that's theirs. Specially when they don't have the fifth stage.

Incorrect. If FUNimation holds the license, they are well within their rights to send C&Ds to anyone who attempts to distribute it without their permission. They're the distributors. Even if they don't hold the license, however, Wedge Link still own the property and would be well within their rights to do the same thing.

It just hasn't happened yet. It might never happen. But that doesn't mean they can't do it. Don't ever think that.

Right, don't tempt the beast. I never think wishfully in my position. There are always backup plans if "stuff" happens. Let's just hope it doesn't happen. smile.gif

The BGM of the date scene kind of ruined it for me...

I think Shinji's mom sounds way older than I expected.

The animation seems like it's getting worse and worse but I'm pretty sure it's just the crappy video quality of the upload... you can't just turn a 1080P video into a 360 pixel video.

Not to mention that only 7 DVDs are advertised currently. They projected all the way to July last month. That would mean only 14 episodes. Of course they could advertise more suddenly and I could be wrong.

The one thing I can see them doing though is to make a movie to wrap up the series. Save the best for last.
