Since when was a column shifter proper? I understand it in trucks, but it just screams "old boat car".

QUOTE (Rudy @ 5 hours, 21 minutes ago)
It wasn't that long ago that even many compact cars (Chrysler K comes to mind) had column shifts.

So as recently as twenty years ago? The last Chrysler K compact car of any sort that used it was the amazing [/sarcasm] LeBaron. awesome.gif

How can you like the Fusion if it comes with filthy plebeian "normal" shifter? whistling.gif

And insurance rates on a top end Taurus Police Package, which is faster than the Charger Pursuit, are better?

I miss column shifters. If you don't have a ratchet shifter, why take up otherwise useful space? You could fit a woman there (or a dude, if you swing that way) if you had a bench seat.

Don't tell me you think 0-60 in just over 7 seconds isn't fast enough to merge onto modern freeway traffic.

Sure, and that's a really stupid way to write a post.

Does a similar 0-60 time with two less turbos.

I have to agree that the lack of attractive wagons on the market these days is pretty appalling. We in the US just aren't cool enough.
