| I've seen quite abit of back and forth about drop-in K&N air filters. Considering trying the K&N but not sure if they're worth the premium price. From what I've heard, they're only justification is in their longevity. On the other side I've read reports that K&Ns let more dust particles through than regular paper filters, and the oil from the filter can cause problems with the MAF sensor. Anyone else have experience with this brand? |

| I like the idea of more open, higher flowing drop-in filters as much of the next guy, especially when we're talking about reusable offerings... But I just can't get behind oiled filters, especially on cars outfitted with a MAF. I'm running a Cosworth dry cotton filter in my IX, and it will be washed and reused until that's no longer viable. I've never been unhappy with the K&N filters I've run, but there's always the risk there of wrecking a MAF and I'd rather not take that if I can help it. |

| Good information, thank you. I've been using the generic FRAM with it getting close to time for replacing and wanted to try something higher quality that breathed alittle better. Haven't heard of the Cosworth filters before. |

| I wasn't aware that Cossie had filter offerings either, but did some digging on panel filters and they came out on the higher flowing end of the dry options so I went with it. |

I've looked up the AEM dryflows and for the most part, have heard alot good things about them. Seems to be the preferred alternative to the oiled K&N. |

| I used a K&N in my Cavalier. I just never had to deal with any MAF sensor foul-ups because the Cav never had one to my surprise. |

| i have used my K&N coldair intake filter for 4 years now in my 2010 Lancer Sportback and never had any problems with the MAF sensor. I've self cleaned the filter this past summer with the K&N cleaning kit and it still works fine. For me i think it is quite worth it with the self cleaning kit and that sexy sound. |
