Im not 100% certain but from what I recall theyre not as "emissions" friendly because of the additives they use. Ie the zinc, which is why i use it in the first place in the Z. Delvac, It has what cams crave.

Yay Rotella. I'm running T6 (full synthetic) 5w-40 in mine.

And yes, emissions are why, it'll f-up your cat pretty good if you run oil with zinc.

What cat?

The black and white one. The orange one seems to handle it okay, but he's a bit older and is kinda moody, so we never really know if he's cool with anything or not. awesome.gif

My HFC can break down all it wants, not like it does anything anyway. smile.gif

And considering my Yaris burns less than an ounce of oil per 5,000 miles... awesome.gif

I guess I'll shoot for Mobil 1's diesel formula. :3

I think you missed the point, the phosphorous in ZDDP will break down the catalyst material. You'll have to delete or gut your cat in order to run an oil with ZDDP without causing problems down the road. And to set the record straight, that's not a suggestion, I wouldn't even think about that on a vehicle so new.

@Mobius: Glad I could help! laugh.gif

Oh, wow... seriously? Thanks for pointing that out, I wouldn't want to kill my cat and drive up emissions. facepalm.gif

I'm not saying you don't, nor am I saying you care. I'm saying it's work to do it, and knowing you, you'll put it off, and then end up stranded in the middle of the forest in bum-f**k nowhere with a glowing cat.
