Forget it, I'll get Gg then. >.< ----------- Edit: Just finished the last two episodes; it just couldn't be any better. It kept getting better and better from episode 1 itself and ends with a bang! Bravo for the epic anime, SHAFT! Best anime in years, and probably for another few years, if not more, to come. I'll pay attention next time when I hear about Urobuchi Gen again.

I'm loving this series a lot, especially the Dada-style art used (very much like Hidamari Sketch) - it's a really nice touch and one of the highlights of the series so far, for me, since it's one of my favorite types of art. I had no idea that Kyubey was male though, so that threw me off for a second.
Regardless, it's an exceptional series, and I can't wait to finish the other 8 episodes. I'll report back then. This post has been edited by KyonPalm on Jun 23 2011, 12:26 PM

Prepare new pants before starting episodes 10-12. You'll need them. And adding to what Thir13teen said, yes--if you thought Mami's ability was cool, wait until you see Homura go all-out. I think I'm in lurve. Or considering the show's theme, I guess I'm in lesbians. As to the comment about the "Hidamari-like" art style, well... here's all I have to say about that. TIIRO FINALE~! May as well mention also that it could have had an influence after all...
I definitely commend Shaft for using such a left-field style (especially more than once) to create something visually stunning, while at the same time, very unique. EDIT: So now I'm on episode 8 and...

ShiMACHaze Group: Advanced Members Posts: 19,542 Member No.: 5,394 Joined: Feb 5th 2005 Location: Drydock | That this is about a month away from being a year old is insulting. How dare we not update this thread. So here we go, I just got back from attending the first two movies here in Los Angeles. Since the review will contain spoilers specific to the movies, I'll spoiler them. Proceed at your own peril. Before that, though, first a picture of me. Because apparently someone on /a/ went to the showing and just HAPPENED to get me in-frame at the time. I'll leave it to your imaginations as to which one is me. On the way in we decided to get merchandise, or at least try to. I was about to get the last "MAKE A CONTRACT SAVE THE WORLD" shirt but Sensation! wanted it more, so I let him have it. He bought me snacks in return though so it worked out. By that point the movie was about to begin and the theater was packed, so me, Sensation!, Pikachu_Fragger and Jason got like...the last seats in the top row. Not bad seats actually, no complaints here! Besides, I had a persistent ear infection so it didn't really bother me any more than that LOL. Also, people need to know better. Sensation! and I were the first mofos to get up and make it to the bathroom after the first movie ended and it went to intermission because we knew when the film would end. It was predictable! By the time we were done with our business the bathroom was crammed with those who foolishly thought that sitting through the credits of the first film would net them something. Booyah! Sorry, it's the small things in life. Now, before we move on to the spoilers, I will spoil one thing for you. Cover your eyes all you want but it's important to get this out before some people get mad at themselves for spending money. Ready? Here goes. No, the two movies are not different from the TV series. At least, there are no additional scenes. There are altered or corrected scenes but there are no added scenes. Okay, now that that's out of the way, time for the nitty gritty.
So yeah! I can't go into every single tiny detail here, but I can say that despite their shortcomings I enjoyed the film experience thoroughly. A must-see for Madoka fans. A must-see for those who haven't yet seen the TV series but want to see Madoka. Something that can be passed over for the casual viewer expecting additional content. It's up to you to determine which of those you are. Peace!

Same. I'm hoping that the Paradiso profited enough from the last screening to host this upcoming one. Also, are you saying they ran the movies a second time?
