Only a concept so far, but the way they're talking about it sounds like they want to get it out of that stage. I'm already liking the look. If this comes out in my lifetime I might seriously consider getting one...

It's gorgeous.

And I agree it sounds like they're looking to bring it to production with how they've been talking about "hurdles" with the rotary versus today's emissions standards. Between direct injection and Skyactiv tech I think they've got a decent shot.

I'm curious about what sort of advancements they've made to the rotary engine. In an article I read the guys from Mazda insisted they've managed to solve some issues with emissions relating to the new rotary engine that they've apparently dubbed Skyactiv-R.
