- UPDATES : Animax has confirmed that Final Stage will be available on its subscription-based VOD (Video On Demand) service starting May 16th, 2014. It will continue where Fifth Stage left off. Consist of a total of four episodes, Final Stage will be focusing on the long-awaited final 86 vs 86 battle between Takumi and Shinji. [confirmed]
- UPDATES : Avex has confirmed that the New Initial D The Movie will be a trilogy. First part of the trilogy is called Legend 1 -Awakening- slated for release in theaters on August 23rd, 2014 (Japan Only) [confirmed]

Focuses on the girls and Shingo and Nakazato entirely pretty much. No AE86, only like one race and more love story stuff. I'm more into the racing action and there is little of it here. That's just my opinion though. Everything else about Initial D is far better. |

It's still part of the Initial D mythos, albeit focussing on the only two people who just happen to be females. The first part did have some good racing action with the Sil80 vs LanEvo, but the second part was character driven touchy-feely stuff. All in all, not bad, but not necessarily essential to the overall series (which focuses more on Takumi). Female characters + fan service + stupendously popular anime series = lots of male fanboys who will pay money to see it = money to finance future future initial D features. |

I see the point in Extra Stage but personally, I just felt it seemed quite out of place for the series. The first half was decent, hated the 2nd half however....... Anyways, at least the Movie rocked like no other. |

However, for me, the choice scene in Extra Stage was Sayuki blasting Nakazato/Shingo over losing to the Emperors. She then performed the Sayuki jiggle and Nakazato ends up having a mad crush on her.  |
