Hey I'm pretty new to this but what's your guys' favorite stage and why?

---

personally my favorite is stage 1. I don't know what it is about it but I just love young takumi before he joined Project D. Minding his own business and getting dragged into unwanted situations by his friends.

Third Stage. Aside from a few little nags here and there, it's nigh perfect. The OST is second only to Battle Stage.

3 > 1 > 4 > B1 = B2 > 2 = F > E1 > E2 > 5

That's how I see it.

First and Fourth Stage. First because of the wonderful plot and everything made sense in that season. Fourth Stage because Keisuke more important and there were a lot of his races in that season. The soundtrack was great in all the seasons. I just love EuroBeat!

I'll go with first stage because the story line is simple and makes a lot of sense.

And 2nd stage because it started the whole idea of the 86 becoming a legendary car.

And 3rd stage because it is just plain awesome.

And 4th stage because the good races are very good and Keisuke and Fujiwara is learning a lot about racing here.

And fifth stage because the visual effects + music is very cool. facepalm.gif

I don't like the final stage because it is the final. crying2.gif wavecry.gif

I second this, so much...

And also third and fourth stage.

Third stage for just simply awesome and the race scenes are still great.

Fourth stage... Idk some episodes felt boring but some other are great. I love the race scenes in fourth the most because it's the most realistic ones.

Personally,I like the whole Initial D and i don't think someone will disagree. But i think First,Third and Fourth was the best Stages.

The first because Takumi dragged into racing and he started to have fun without knowing how special he is.The plot was so smooth that you understood every single time what's going on.Also the technical speeches was more "bang on" meening that they did make sense.

The third because Takumi was getting familiar with his new AE-86 after the Second Stage race with Wataru and because it was a movie. Also the race with Kogashiwa (sorry for spelling right if i did).

The fourth stage was so more beautiful.Better graphics, more good plot and more "technical speeches".The races was more exciting than any other stages and the "Battle Against Gods" episodes was something i will never forget.

From the above i choose Fourth stage as my favourite...

Now for the Second and Fifth Stage i didn't like them cause the one was so sort and not very exciting and the other was exciting but not as fourth stage. From the Fifth stage i enjoy the race between Ryousouke and Grim Reaper Shinigami!

The comparison of graphics between Third and Fourth Stage and labeling one as "more beautiful" is subjective. Third uses more realistic textures to fit the "big budget feature" theme. Fourth goes with a more "flat" theme to look more like the "regular" animation surrounding it.

First, Third, and Battle.

First had a good plot, Third had a great plot, and Battle summed up all the battles along with awesome music.

i would go with first. i started reading the manga when my brother checked it out from the library. as a non-car person, i just liked the story line of a young guy being this genius racer and blowing everybody away. so when it became hard for him to win, and the wins were becasue of boring things like tire management, i kind of lost interest. i liked the little parts of him racing in the 85 and beating the jerks in more powerful cars. or his impromtu race in akagi in a borrowed car against an unknown redsuns member [manga only].

that said, ryosuke's race in fifth stage against shinigami was amazing.

First Stage is the foundation to the show.

Second Stage is the basis of the main character (Takumi) changing into a better driver as well as the car going into an overhaul to comply.

Third Stage was just filler in some sense.

Fourth Stage is just a collection of races that Project D had in which both cars get a brand new makeover and showed some techniques that works in real life.

Fifth Stage was just something that fans wanted after a 7 year hiatus. facepalm.gif

Final Stage is ... well the finale of a series that is old as GiTS, NG, and CB. Shigeno really wanted to end this series since its 18+ years old. facepalm.gif

In my opinion, First and Fourth Stage were my favorites. They were just fun to watch and just better than the other stages. They had some kind of "zing" that attracted many people to watch.

I saw First Stage back in 1998, and had no idea there were even any car/racing anime series, so sentimentally, I want to say first stage. But re-visiting it recently, the CG just doesn't stand up. The story is decent, but the animation really doesn't become acceptable until the end of First Stage (and even then, second stage brings another big quality jump).

I'm going to break with the crowd and say I like Second Stage best of 1-4; I'm re-watching 4th now to lead into 5th and Final Stage(s), which I only recently learned exist (after watching since 1998, I kinda assumed ID was dead a few years after 4th Stg ended without anything new coming out). 4th Stage is a close second for me, but 2nd edges it out since it's the first point in the series that Takumi really becomes self-aware as a driver (and the only time he ever actually loses a race IIRC).

My favorite is the second stage. The racea and music are the best. My favorite scene is when seiji(evo 4) guy said " there is no way the 86 can see me... He must be way..." Then headlightsnreflected on his rear view mirror and it is the 86. Hahahaha the best.

The ending song in the
Last episode is very touching too.
