Haven't played MGS since 2, but why is Ocelot supporting Snake? o.O

Play MGS3 and 4 and you'll pretty much understand.

Man haven't played a MGS game since snake eater. And that was so long ago and so far between 1 and 2 that I pretty much don't remember the story at all. I think I still have 4 hanging around here somewhere, though. May be time to get back into it.

I know it's stated that this is coming to both PS3 and 4. I just hope it looks just as awesome on the PS3.

Also on 360 and Xbox One. Don't care though, as I lost interest in MGS after 2.

Praytell why? MGS 2 started the trend of MGS plots being completely idiotic and overly complex. Sure MGS itself had a corny plot, but MGS 2 took it to overdrive. I never played 3 but saw plenty of it, and wasn't impressed with the story. I had 4 and was disgusted enough to turn it off for good after the first chapter.

If they can give me a MGS with a solid (no pun intended) plot and not too many stupid unrealistic characters, considering the next one looks to be highly realistic, I might take a closer look, but I'm not really looking at it with any sort of hope. It's MGS. I skipped it over and nothing terrible happened to me.

I've never had many issues with the characters, with the exception of MGS2 with the bloated plot and Raiden: MGS4 with the over -the-top acting and preachy anti-war message. The original MGS and MGS3 struck a good balance between story and gameplay, and brought a cast of reasonably good characters.

Not sure what you mean by unrealistic, whether it's their personality or abilities (Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven).

New extended trailer.

Well, they did somehow manage to transfer Liquid Snake to Ocelot through a fucking ARM. Couldn't write their way out of a paper bag.

I was hoping for another story trailer but more gameplay and a release year that everyone pretty much knew is quite good.

Meanwhile the internet is exploding over "BOOBS IN A VIDYAGAME!" as prominently displayed in this footage.

Release date's been leaked. Sept 1, 2015. I was predicting between June and September so not too disappointed by having to wait till the end of that window.

Definitely getting this on day one, but I'll close myself off from the internet boards (Gfaqs) for the first few days to keep my experience uninfluenced by other players' discoveries.

The PC requirements are going to be interesting given how vast and detailed the environments will be. Looking to start my new build over the summer and just hoping the recommended setup falls within my specs wishlist.

I haven't really been following Metal Gear Solid for a while now, but is the game that is coming out in September come with that one they released last year, Ground Zero?

Nope. They're quite separate. Thankfully Phantom Pain is going to be vastly larger than Ground Zeroes.

Oh, I was hoping they'd package it with the release of Phantom Pain like they did with Peacewalker and the HD release of Metal Gear Solid 1-3.

There's a chance they could package it with the game as some kind of pre-order bonus or something. Or at least give a code to download it from the store.

I'm sure it'll be part of a "complete version" package.

The sad thing is I am sure that's going to be offered like a year later after Phantom Pain's release.

Really on the fence about getting that. Since I don't buy games very often anymore what with the finances being restructured, I figure one big game purchase is in the works.

I seen that package price for that thing is $499 which is overkill IMO, doesnt even come witha PS4.

Die hard fans will buy it though.
