tell ur technicians to go into the game options.

go into test mode.

go into game settings (should be this or something along the lines of this).

here it should have the gas pedal settings, the break settings and the steering settings.

you select the gas pedal settings and it should look something like this.

________max
________V
-----------
/\
min

reset
exit.

in this menu your supposed to pressdown the accel/break gently till the max option, so dont get clueless about what you have to do, its written in the book.

ok so on with how u fix it.

push the 'reset' feature and it should now look something like
___max
___V
___/\
__min
you will notice the min has increased hence why your car wasnt accelerating.

then gently depress the gas pedal to the max and it will look like

_______________________________max
________________________________V
__-------------------------------------------
___/\
__min

now push 'exit' and repeat for the break settings aswell. and thats it gg.

another thing:

the difference in time attack between this and the faulty accel isnt as big as you think watch also, which points out this games flaws.

QUOTE
Hi guys - I'm Andrew, and I'm manager of the Timezone that Ben and Jimmy have been talking about in the thread.

First up, the "final gear" issue has been fixed - and it's actually the same issue as the "accelerator" issue. Basically the input for gas and brake had to be recalibrated, as it was still in ID4 mode. When the system's still in ID4 calibration, you have a two-layer problem: first, the accelerator is never read as being fully depressed (the game thinks you're holding it at about 80%), and secondly, the brake is constantly at 25% when you're not touching it.

The net effect is that you go slow and revs build up so slowly that most cars simply can't get into top gear.

To fix it, you go into test mode, then into the game test mode, then input assignments, then choose Gas Pedal or Brake Pedal in that menu, and calibrate it as mentioned in the thread already dedicated to it on the board.

As for ID5 cards - they're on their way. We got caught out when we ordered the upgrade kits, unaware that (unlike Namco's Tekken and Maxitune games) IC cards are not included with the kits.

I'll try to post here about it when they arrive, but no doubt Jimmy and Ben will tell you first smile.gif

accel problem = gear calibration.

actually its never the gear, cos its push up or pull down thats all.

it has always been the pedal calibration

Just to clarify this point, so after the accel and brake problem has been fixed, even a stock car can fully make use of the final gear with the velocity keep bleeding off?

it will bleed in corners for sure.
but at least on straights the final gear will still accelerate for a stock car

This was the exact same problem for most ID4 machines and the brake calibration. Why does the game do this? Dumb.
