Never once played that in nein years of my stay in IDW. Would be nice to play even just once.

We could set one up, but we'd have to make DPs actually worth something in order to make it worthwhile. Right now the item store is all you can spend them on, and everything in there is relatively inexpensive. The lottery would only mean your virtual bank account gets bigger... to spend on basically nothing of value.

The DPs don't really matter. Just curious on how it plays. :3

I'm still DP poor though... ( ._.) Would be nice to play once anyway.

So far I'm getting a ton of SQL errors when I attempt to create a lottery. I can describe what it would be like if it worked, though.

The actual lottery "game" is set up much like a Powerball drawing. An admin sets the parameters, such as how many numbers are to be drawn and how high each number can be.

Example: I set it so that the drawing is for five numbers, with the highest number possible being 9. Members could thus enter five numbers, none of which can be higher than 9...

Now, we could set it so that you can win via getting the exact numbers that the system drums up, and a separate prize if you manage to get the right numbers, albeit not in the exact sequence.

So, if you drew 1 2 3 4 5, and the winning numbers were 5 4 3 2 1, you'd win the second prize.

We can set the prizes as well. The typical jackpot is an amount of DPs that we set when creating the lotto. We can also make it so that winners get a bonus prize, which would be an item from the IPB Store.

For those geeks that want the error code, here it is.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about SQL, literally. I know nothing. I've never read anything about it nor have I ever worked with an SQL database.

That all being said, as someone coming from AVISynth scripts and their errors, it looks like it just doesn't like the name. And I don't mean the parser thinks your name for the Lotto is stupid but it seems as if you put the name into the wrong part of the field. At least from the error here:

VALUES (NULL,'Tessou's Sexy Test Lotto',' at line 1

It seems that the values it specifically lists are incorrect for the type of code you're writing, i.e. they're in the wrong place.

The more I lose the lottery, the better my chances of winning right?!

Maybe you just had the luck... I just played a few Max Bet rounds. Dumped 200,000 in it.. You can tell from how big the BONUS is now. Every time you bet, the house match 1/20 of it and put it into the BONUS regardless that you win or not.

I won bonus !!

I think the Lottery was disabled long time ago for a reason... I took a look at it but it looks like Greek since it's been so long... The Lottery worked when it was still PHP 4.x and MySQL 3.x. That means the syntax error can be from anywhere in its code.

I think it's honestly a waste of time. We can create a lotto outside of the IBStore, and award DPs from the admin panel without a problem, considering admins can just create DPs and hand them out.

Like the government can just print/mint more money? That'd be a bad thing... if DPs were worth anything in the first place. On IDW, hyperinflation is nonexistent.

How nice if someone sends me a billion DPs... Lol.
