My problem with my original playthrough was that I kept swapping bases and losing a ton of resources in the process, because you don't get them back when you abandon a base. I swapped from the church to the farm, and then to the Alamo in Marshall, and both times I was leaving a base that I put a ton of resources into. Instead, I'm going to get the requisite amount of people, then go straight for the warehouse with 50 material resources. Since I know where a lot of materials are located, it won't be hard. There's a TON of it littered around West Marshall, conveniently a few blocks away from the warehouse. |

That's why I wasn't too worried about the upkeep. I didn't put much stuff into the church other than what they wanted me to do and a couple of upgrades. And once I got 50 materials I moved straight to the warehouse and I've pretty much filled all of the free slots for building stuff. |

No deaths yet. Put out the word for materials and scavenged a bunch, making a sleeping area and a workshop, then upgrading the sleeping area and guard tower. Everyones getting some sleep now. |

And thats one Xbone feature that might be cool, if they move this series to it, or for anything else, if you can upload it somewhere. I has a sad without video capture device. |

You have to go get them. Not really a big deal unless you're super attached to your fleet. I found copies of everything I had, including the legendary aircraft-carrier-handling station wagon, very close to my new base in Marshall once I got bored of the countryside. I am very fond of the heavy duty trucks, since they can take loads of punishment before knocking.

I had it set to private while I tested to make sure it uploaded properly, and forgot to switch it to public. ---- Who wants to have some friendly competition? SoD isn't multiplayer, and the leaderboards aren't very reliable, so how about a challenge on the honor system? I'll put forth a challenge for everybody playing the game: How many zombies can you kill with one character in a single sitting? That is, how many can you kill before you switch characters due to exhaustion or get killed by the unending hordes? By all means, record and upload your gameplay here if you want and show off. Teach newbies how you effectively kill the oncoming zeds like a true street soldier, and flaunt that kill count! One session means you are not allowed to play as one character, shut the game off, and come back later to keep playing as the same character. Once you put the game down or switch characters, that's it. You can see your current kill count from the pause menu by selecting "leaderboards". It should default to your personal total zombie kill count, which is your starting point. Record the number after you finish your slaughter session, and post it here. Winner gets a prize that they can use on XBL! This post has been edited by Tessou on Jun 14 2013, 08:46 AM |

Anyway, decided to put an hour or two after not being able to for the week. Moved to the trucking warehouse and finally found a Colt Python so I could start using the stock of .357mag sitting in our locker for ages. |

I got my 12th required survivor in sad circumstances, though: the poor guy was just waiting for us in a house for a simple trading mission. Interestingly enough, though, he asked for a ride home once we finished trading, so we hopped in a car and headed for the vet office (his survivor group's base). Once we got there, he started saying "no, no, oh God, please don't let it happen like this..." and we checked out the eerily quiet vet office. Turns out both of his companions were killed by a feral while he was out. He joined my group by default since he knew he would never make it by himself. I came back later and grabbed his dead companions' gear. Pretty solemn. |

Undead Labs is already working on a second update to the game to fix a few more little bugs here and there, and they just announced a sandbox mode for the game, to be released... sometime. Still no word on a multiplayer mode, but they've always said they want it in the game just as soon as MS will give them the go-ahead for it. Sandbox mode would be easier to implement since it just requires the assets already in the game. Multiplayer would require a lot of extra stuff to allow for more players to interact with the world at the same time. |
