I already know the shift points from another thread in here (6500, 7250, 7750, 8000, right?). I just FT'd my EvoIV so I'm thinking of switching (don't ask about my Capp, that was just an experiment, I might still keep it though). Any tips on how to get used to (or even master) the car? Thanks in advance. |

But it is a pain with tracks like Akina uphill and Iro up and down (down due to the sharp corners, turning in can be a problem if you go to fast and the walls are a pain with your acceleration) |

on iro with my nb8c 6speed i go like this: this applies to -MOST- hairpins but not all of the on iro approachin hairpin- in 5th gear enterance: start turning and let off gas>brake>shift down to 3>shift to 4> exit- shift to 5 at about 89 or 90 not sure which is actually better

When I miss a jump, I do the next best thing if I'm in a battle. I use the RX-8's massively wide arse to block them on the upcoming straightaway.

IDASv3 > IDAS4 Group: Advanced Members Posts: 6,862 Member No.: 2,853 Joined: Aug 28th 2004 Location: San Diego, CA | for the rx8 on iro, i am usually able to gain myself a 30-50m lead on evos thanks to my speed in the straightaways, and if i am passed, it is 99% of the time on the jumps. i learned that to battle, as well as time attack, you have to greatly sacrafice speed in that section. for each of the jumps, i take them in 3rd and use massive braking, so that i can clear them with 0 wall contacts in that entire section. also, with the heavier braking, i am able to cut as far inside as they do, thus preventing them from passing me. also, there is a very tight right then left after the jumps that i take in 3rd to cover the apex of the turn. i have been passed there many times because of swinging wide. |

It seems like its built for the RX-8. You can just drift around and around corners, and anytime theres a straightaway, you pull off with the acceleration and speed. Also, its so small that almost no one can pass. |

mostly 'cuz of the startup. the rx-8 will dust the cap off the line and as most of us know, once you're in front on shomaru, it'll take a lot of effort (unless the chaser is a lot better), to get pass you.
