| It's not about fundings. It's about me not willing to upgrade. The complexity to upgrade from 1.3 to 3.0 is so huge that we might as well start from scratch. It will take a team of programmers weeks to convert the schema and make all the custom modules compatible. So short answer, no. We will not upgrade. If you want a feature, post it here and I will eventually get around doing it. Last time Nomake Wan suggested the Ignore Function, it only took me two years. No biggie. |

| Perry is an absolutely amazing webmaster. There's nothing wrong with the forum code, and in fact it's more optimized than most of the forums you'll find out there running 3.0 anyway. I'm curious as to your desire to have us switch. What's wrong with the board in your eyes? |

| IDW has a lot of custom code in it. A lot. Transferring to 3.0 would not be as simple as flipping a switch. As Perry said, it would take a monstrous amount of time and it would not be a smooth transition. And really, what would be the desired reward? Are there really any features in 3.0 that IDW needs that couldn't be coded into the current build? When I was admin a few years ago, I toyed with the idea but realized it was basically a worthless endeavor. I stopped thinking about such an upgrade after a few days in the big chair. It's an upgrade that doesn't need to happen for any reason. |

| Damn those silly moderators. We've gone over upgrading to IPB version whatever many times. It's never gonna happen. They should have just answered with that instead of splitting the thread. |
