I find braking more efficient fear2.gif
PC very well for untuned cars but no as well for FT ones=x
PC helps reduce timing in new cars ( cars that u juz created ) and PC juz seems to take away secs from FT ones=x
Here, the brake is more efficient....
Tested braking instead of Pc'ing and it works like wonder=)

So kewl! Finally there's a technique that i've been trying to figure out..

maybe you're right echizen.. I gotta learn how to brake.. not only that it might be faster.. but it looks cool when you're watching from behind.. hehe.. remember the brake light trail you see from AI cars when they drift?

hmm.. anyone interested in heel-toe? hehehe..

Me? laugh.gif
but seriously, braking IS BETTER
Compared to pc'ing into corners.... Braking kinda limits the spd loss and olso erases penalty.
The theory for PC is olso braking=x

Depending on how u use it....
If there are corners that can results in a wheel lock at the end of it, like corners in myogi.
By pc'ing into it, u can make the car turn more when it hits the wheel lock....
When cornering, pc'ing helps u get nearer to the apex of the curve....

i get nearer the apex without actually PCing.. i only use strict throttle and wheel control.. it can be done without PC.. so i'm go for braking.. and heel-toe maybe.. hehehe..

i have a theory about heel-toe though.. it's as if they do it just so that they don't lose revs while shifting.. hmm.. maybe it's not really done to initiate the drift..

so i guess it wouldn't be too useful in this game because there's no clutch.. happy.gif

LoL...
Tried heel-toe...
Nth happens.... Brakes more instead of accelerating..
Meaning.... IT CAUSES THE CAR TO HIT A COMPLETE STOP >_<

finally there's someone who understands.. hehe.. we cannot limit ourselves with the techniques that everyone's already using because they're already proven to work.. rather.. we need to find other techniques.. those that can really help us improve and become better drivers.. happy.gif

At the arcade I go to I don't really see ANYONE using PC. When I first started trying it in the different corners I could feel the people looking like "wtf is he doing, wtf is that, is it zomg secret hax techniznquz?" lol.

Anyway, the better players I've seen all turn about the same way, it's pretty fast too. They just approach the corner and turn while braking for about the first half of the corner then release brake and full gas again. For the lesser corners, they just release the gas for about the first half of the turn then full gas again. It works pretty well if they remember to countersteer right and dont hit any walls, I've found.

So lately I've laid down the PC for now, until I'm full tune, where it probably becomes much more important to beat those good times by a couple seconds ( lol like v3's eraser was =P ). For now, the only instance I use PC is when I hit a wall OR when I take a really sharp corner at extremely high speeds successfully and I'm all like "woah nice I did it smooothly this one" I'll use PC out of paranoia to make sure everything was perfect.

i think the invisible wall is wheel lock.... haha but i still don get the thoery of pc but i think with wolf's explanation i sumhow am enlightened abit... haha

I don't know if that "wheel lock" should be called as such. On my end, I call it understeer.

You see, if you go too fast when rounding a corner, your car will turn little because the weight is on the rear tires and not the front. Perform braking techniques and your front tires will gain traction, thus no understeer. But... if you pressed the pedal too much during cornering (assuming that you've done the above procedure), understeer will persist. Well, that's on the side of reality.

EDIT: PC can only do such -> Penalty Cancel. Accel techniques are still effective in driving. grin2.gif
