What program do you use to convert AVI files to a DVD format? I tried many programs and most of them didn't work so I need help.

if its anything similar to burning vcd u have to convert the avi into mpeg format first...then just use nero i think. but it will take VERY LONG to do..it took me like 3 hours to convert battle stage into a mpeg which i could then burn to vcd format. may be differnt for dvds im not too sure though
