When people get card jams at the local fun center here in Santa Clarita, CA, they just kick the card-reader, and it works. happy.gif

The once thing that really bother me is the worker in the acrade shop.
Even tho it works, they don't trust no one. Last time I tried it in Hong Kong, but they just yell at me and swearing and stuff... pinch2.gif

Yeah, hope it doesn't happen. The closest thing that happened was when I put a DC2 into the machine and it said some kind of error. The attendant turned the machine off and then my card came out when it turned back on.

I was pissed, cause if it was lost, I don't know what I would've done.

At Menlo in New Jersey, the machine never jams. It may have before, but I don't know. Faith, you know Sean and Jake. Ask them. They've played there longer than I have. They would know if it jammed before or not. But what sucks is that a lot of noobs play there, and the cards in the machine get used up quickly. So, you have to be careful sometimes when you have to transfer data or renew.

I work at an arcade, and this is a frequent problem with one of our machines. But it's really easy to fix. When you renew your card, the game reads the data from your card, stores it in its cache, stamps an "invalid" on your card and spits it back out, and then attempts to reprint your data on a new card. However, unless the card box and the card dispensing mechanism are lined up perfectly, the card will not be able to come out, and the dispenser will jam up, thus causing a "card reader error". On older machines, where the card dispenser mechanism is loose and worn out, this is going to happen a lot. All you have to do is open up the machine, re-align the card box with the dispenser, and press start/view change, and it should repeat the process again...and if it doesn't work, just do it again. There is really no way that you can lose your card in an inspection, unless the arcade attendant is a dumbass. And knowing how most arcade attendants are, they either know how to fix and operate the machine (unlikely), or don't give a crap and will let you do whatever you want with it (likely!).

it happened to me at george street galaxy world, twice in 2 weeks.
First my data wasnt saved after a race, and then 1 week later my data wasnt saved after a race and it jammed and so the attendant took out my card, after i had pressed start +view change a couple of hundred times, and now it woont read my card crying2.gif . That really annoyed me, and i also lost a bad card in instpection, but i was more annoyed at losing my card after a normal race, is there no way to fix this???

the morale of this story is for all aussies to not use the crappy, badly maintaned machines at galaxy world - george street

yeh i went to galactic circus a few weeks ago and the initial d machines were badly maintained like the steering wheel never stopped turning, like you could do 1000000 degrees with them. so i decided to go back to intencity where they fix the machines after they find out there is something wrong with them.

but the only thing they havnt fixed is the rocket chair (never locks in place)

Wish we could open up the card reader at our arcade ermm2.gif

Our mechanic doesnt trust the workers with the key. then again neither would I since our arcade is at a bowling alley.

same with me, the arcade is a bowling alley. we used to have an arcade with cheap ID, 75 cents but it is closing for a f|_|cking gelato shop mad.gif
