There's Sunfire missing and I don't think they'll be missing two volumes in a row (to my chagrin). SEB238 also lacks Dima, Go Go's and Delta.

In the recent but unused tracks above, I can see all of them making it in minus 1 Hi-NRG. That makes 11 tracks. 1 more GG, 2 Delta, 1 more dima and 1 sunfire.

While I also love Alix, I doubt she's active at the moment. She had two songs in the 210's. After that, she went dark. It's true that between SEB 220 and 221, there was a one-year hiatus though. So, it's hard to keep people around especially if they can't pay them to stay around...

I wouldn't suppose Sun Fire again on Vol. 238. They are still on tour after their wedding and Aleph Mexico performance.

Nuage finished her adventure with Eurobeat together with A.Beat-C. She has another work and family.

Don't forget that she made one track with Bratt during the 220s. Title escapes me. That title was a one-off though.

Late edit: "Crazy Little Love" on SEB223.

So I was right with my assumption. That's good, because even if I don't like the latest songs from Sun Fire that much, SEB without Dave Rodgers wouldn't be SEB anymore.

14 smoking turds and one 2-star track? Sounds like modern SEB to me.

Xiao sent me the link last night and I listened to it. If it has Farina involvement, I want to know about it.

Am I not entitled to an opinion, Lebon? Or is it only valid if it agrees with your specific eccentricities? rolleyes.gif

It's the fact that you know before-hand that you won't like it and you still try it regardless. Even if xiao sent you the link, you could have said "no, thanks. I know I won't like it". When I read your opinion, it felt like I was shat on. Literally. I'm open to opinions. But be constructive about it instead. I read some opinions on EbP too and they don't always go my way, yet, I don't shit on these opinions.

Advice: "Hero" by Ken Martin was on Junodownload way before this SEB's release (and where all new "Mauro" written tracks will be). Here, all Asia/3B releases: http://www.junodownload.com/labels/Asia/releases/ So, you can listen to Mauro's new modern eurobeat turds without having us putting up with your patronizing opinion.

Feel free to ask us if there's a Mauro track or not on the next volume. We'll save your time, since it's the only thing you seem to care about.

Your attempt failed. I didn't go in expecting to dislike anything. Your assumption is what caused you to accuse me of being a spoilsport when I was offering an honest opinion of the album.

You feel shat upon? I think you're acting a bit too high and mighty to make me look like a bully.

Also, telling me to skip the albums and only buy singles is a bad way to promote SEB and this site. It's a thinly veiled method of asking me to leave a thread. I expect an apology from you.

OK, so, questions to ask people at the Iventi party next week:
@Giancarlo: Where is SunFire?!
@Clara: Who is Sugarini?

Anything else? tongue.gif

Wow, the only person to show at least a bit of enthusiasm is Domino. Maybe SCP really gave up on Eurobeat already.

QUOTE (eXtaticus @ 2 hours, 26 minutes ago)

Hey, the new stuff's better than how things were in the Delta-ABC-Time days, when at least a third of the labels on each volume were trash.

Hm, no, there were already great and not so great SEB albums back then and it's the same now.

QUOTE (eXtaticus @ 2 hours, 26 minutes ago)
At least now it's only like two out of seven who are consistently bad - though SAIFAM's offering was pretty disappointing this time, and IMO, they appear to do the female-sung tracks a hell of a lot better. More fun/catchy melodies, better-sounding synths, etc.

I don't know any label which is constantly bad. Even SCP and GoGo's have some good songs, still most of them are ruined via bad mixing and/or mastering. I mean, they should at least check the sustain curves of the kick drums, dammit. It's the first thing I learned when I was working on some Minimal House with two other guys (didn't last a long time because the music bored me but I learned really a lot): always optimise the envelope of kick drums and bass.
It's an easy thing to do but has such a huge impact on the result.

QUOTE (eXtaticus @ 2 hours, 26 minutes ago)
Dima, GoGo's and SCP always win the race, for me, personally. I honestly think that people look at most pre-2004 eurobeat that wasn't from A-Beat C with rose-tinted glasses; such a huge amount of it has always been pretty uninspiring, tbh. ;X

I agree with you on the second part (the first part is personal so there's not sense in agreeing or disagreeing). Yes, there was a lot of uninspiring stuff. But these songs still have something special which makes them Eurobeat. And some of the newer song abandon that completely to sound more radio friendly. And it's unnecessary, a lot of non-avex Eurobeat artists are sounding modern too but without abandoning any of the Eurobeat feeling.
So, can't we just have Eurobeat and good melodies together instead?

You're missing the point!! Ace had a beard... A BEARD!! ...A SUPER EUROBEARD!!! awesome.gif ☆ ♪ ♫

Well, yeah, that's still right, yes. But … dunno … when I read the name Ace some years ago I knew I will listen to a song so full of energy and power and all that stuff. And now it's almost like a 180° turn. I want the old Powerace back even if he had to shave his beard for that. santa.gif
