Since BTS had gotten IDAS6AA, we might as well create a topic for this...

Posted by: •keL• Mar 19 2011, 07:30 PM
good idea, let me help you get this started, hahah!
in Yishun Northpoint Timezone,
i nearly dominated all the downhills and outbounds in dry condition in every maps possible
besides that, i was called 'che shen' (translating, it means god of racing) by the people there,
when they haven't really seen the outside world of Initial D6AA yet
but still, i felt happy inside that i got called that way v(^v^)v

Hmmm I started to focus more on tag and online battles these day.
It's quite fun against the level 60 and above player in JPN.
They are seriously good, of cus I also get to see the aura. Quite cool!

although Causeway Point's online system is on, i don't find any online battles anywhere,
which arcades do you go to?

looks like same issue as cineleisure TZ.
Tampines Mall TZ no issue with online battles.

does Cineleisure TZ gameplay jerk jerk when you turn on online battles?
because in Causeway Point, when you turn on global tag battles,
the game always jerk after every few seconds, pissing the people there off

Same like cineleisure. Only TM works prefectly. Other places?

at the moment, i don't think so
Yishun's timezone has D6AA, but it isn't online

Yes, abt every 8-10seconds

1st of all i wasn't really gonna play cuz i lost my id5 card & id5 was a little harder to play (play too much mt & bg4) plus the fact that id4 was crap (after month later), & id3 is the same price as mt3dx+ as well as bg4 (so no point in wasting a good $1 for that)

but guess what?????

hi boys wanna race evo3 <3 u

i was gonna get the nsx but it was OVER USED JUST AFTER THE 1 DAY, plus i know a few ppl are sharing cards now (including me with my buddy) so it makes tuning even faster then it already has

Nagao DH Dry 3'04"509
Akagi DH Dry 2'34"607
Akina DH Dry 3'12"616

All with my unfinished tuned NA1. Just wanted to see how much i can push myself in TAs without even finished tuning. Well, hopefully, i can get better once i get Full Spec.

Other than that, met EDGE and SHAN:). And got my 'wings'! laugh.gif

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 20 2011, 12:23 AM
Hmmm, so far I seem to be doing slightly better with some of the maps that I used to suck at real bad in ID5...

Akagi UH Dry 2'29"109
Happo IB Dry 2'49"415
Nagao DH Dry 2'59"849 (Jo's 2'49 timing is insane!!)
Irohazaka DH Dry 2'56"232 (Hopefully I can try it again cause I hit the wall quite a number of times...)

Definitely a far cry from the fastest and nothing great to shout about but I'm still working on it. I feel that there is quite a huge room for improvement because I'm still wall raping on most of the maps... facepalm.gif

All were done with my FD3S6. Currently trying to FT my NA1 so that I can give it a shot again on these maps.

@ter-xd, I'm considered slow bro. Plus I played longer than you and my car is FT'ed. FT makes A LOT of difference now. About 16 seconds?

Posted by: kou yuuzhen Mar 20 2011, 03:57 AM
Oh yes I just heard about BTS, going there in May probably. Right now must be a big crowd, all curious about ID6 laugh.gif How much is the card? Although I don't think I will be getting one.... fear2.gif

Back after more than a year of retirement from IDAS. It's like playing a whole new game - not easy. (well, ID6 is a whole new game anyway, but I'm still out of practice).

Cleared the first 2 stages (till Mako & Sayuki) of story mode today at Marina Square. Not really much of a challenge so far, composed driving will easily get you ahead by 100+ m.

That's as far as I went...this game is bleeding my wallet O.o My AE85 is at spec 2 and I'm just a paltry level 11.

Today :

- Racer Level UP! 42 -> 53.
- Legend mode UP to Lv18 (just a 1/4 away from the next Lvl tho)
- Had some TA, 3'03"3 Akina DH and 2'40"1 Usui CCWD (messed up the 2nd lap OMG D:)
- Had a few epic tag battles in-store with my teammates and Calex XD fun fun fun...turned into quite a ramfest laugh.gif
- Completed the bodykit tuning for my FD RS.

That's all for today, and the week for me. Now, I'll need to tend to my sore right arm facepalm.gif.

Started playing V6 yesterday. Quite fun. laugh.gif

-Transfered Minami to V6.
-Card level 5 > 23
-NSX nearly full-tuned. Next target will be 86T

Didn't expect Nagao can drive like on soap.

J]-[UN : Welcome back. >_> Scary? ME? >_>

Rei.G : There's a sign that says "promotion for 2 weeks - RM2" - which is the price we've been paying for since V4 and beyond stuck to the machines. So I suspect that if we do get online, it'll be in 2 weeks (but we'll be paying more) dry.gif "

EDIT : Anyway I did check with the arcade owner and he says the same.

I'll drop by one of these weekdays after a meeting to give the game a shot, but if its going to be more than RM2 I doubt I will be playing, I rather dump the $ into a mortgage or something smile.gif

I saw winner hit his 2'37'2xx ytd.

Yes it is fun.
But it is the one course i cannot seem to find the right drifting angle, i always hit the outside because corners are so WIDE.

yeah, and c121 is a nightmare

I am only at Spec 2, and running a very bad 3'18 on my second run on Usui CCW.

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 21 2011, 05:33 AM
Lol at Usui and Tsubaki. I can't play these two maps for nuts. Lol. My Usui is like 3'12?

Tsubaki DH is horribly slow @ 3'21. I think I'll be giving up on these two maps and focus more on the rest.

Looks like the settings change on the 1100KM is very important.

That said...I can't believe how bad I am right now. 3'18 on my second try, even if I do not know the physics, is unforgivable.

Legend of the Street Status: Cleared Original and Another to Third Chapter Arc.

Leveled up to level 21.

Won the very first In-Store Battle ever. sweatingbullets.gif

R32's tuning status: Spec 3 completed.

Nothing much otherwise. Still getting used to the psychics in D6. Tsubaki's incredibly hard to drive through. blink.gif

It would be sorta ok if they charge RM3 for Online BATTLE , the majority of 'serious' players are just interested in TA and it would be ridiculous having to fork out more for an option that we'll rarely be using.

Seriously I can foresee this will not be end well as RM3 is the most expensive racing game within Klang Valley.

Back in the day where BG3 just brought into KL, where it was RM2 per game. There were not many people willing to stick with the game for long time.
This leads to even before BG3 Tuned release, the arcade center stop the internet service.
They never support online for BG4.

If the price raise at ID6AA, probably the same bad loop will be happen.

I don't like the idea of the price being raised as well, but the arcade boss seems pretty set on raising the price.

I tried discussing to him about it, but it didn't seem to change his mind.

oh wow the brothers are back. even SEGA pop out yesterday at TS blink.gif was fun taggin with barry rolleyes.gif

Today at TS:

Leveled up to 26.

Tuned the R32 to Spec 5 25%.

Cleared LOTS Another Arc and proceed to Legend Arc till Chapter 2.

Lost to a 13-year old Takumi on my current best course, Usui. sleep.gif (His car's untuned; since his front bonnet is not the carbon type.)

That Takumi is soooo freakin' fast that I can't even catch up at the usual spot where I can normally pull away from my opponents. And he's not even in Awakened state... =.=

But I'd definitely like to race that Takumi again on somewhere else...like Tsubaki. I'd like to see how he runs there (not the Takumi with wings, that's for sure)

In Usui Legend LOTS failure to pull away in the first lap is a nearly automatic loss as in lap 2 the CPU is always much faster than you - especially in the later runs when they keep getting faster.

A typical run with a CPU (not even awakened) on my card runs 2'45 Usui CCW now so any mistake I do now = dead.

Posted by: Randy Mar 23 2011, 12:52 AM
@Cypher

2'45?? blink.gif

Wow...the last time I managed to pull away from Tomoyuki Tachi on Usui with a 550m+ lead was only 2'57-58' D:

Which means I'd definitely have to run on this course even more if I wanna be fast on Usui. sad.gif

btw, which chapter are you on now, Cypher? smile.gif

Posted by: Phoenix_Cypher_K1 Mar 23 2011, 12:57 AM
Chapter 18. 1/4 away to 19.

All the courses seem easy enough at first. But the more you beat the same course, the harder it gets for that course. The difficulty doesn't scale to your tuning either.

Posted by: Randy Mar 23 2011, 02:45 AM
So the more frequent I choose a course for racing, even Akina Speedstars Trio can be as frustratingly tough as Project D aces on that selected area, huh?

Guess I'd have to adjust a bit on my course selection. tongue.gif

Even the technician ABK is having a hard time with one of the Legend Opponents in Chapter 1...laugh.gif He must've yet to mastered the basic psychics of D6AA since he brake, like...A LOT. Dx (I sorta borrowed my card for him to test play a few rounds, but he never won any of them and tend to make mistakes even on rather wide roads like Usui or Akina Ko. pinch2.gif )

not so i think... a few times so far i always lag behind the CPU on 1st Lap of Usui (mistakes everywhere since trying to get a feel of the track) facepalm.gif ... always manage to win on the 2nd lap. ... pinch2.gif

On the other hand, I haven't get to even meet Bunta once...then again, maybe not so good an idea to battle him either on courses you've yet to master, since he's probably just as every bit as frustrating as the guys in Legend already is. =_=;

Something tells me that the 13-year old Takumi might be a small hint to how hard it may be to race Shinn in the future game, but that's really probably just me thinking too much. laugh.gif

@Stormfox

I think it's pretty much 1 mistake = Game Over. But that's just how I saw things when I met this one dude who keep racing guys in Legend on Tsubaki Line and when he raced an Awakened Ryosuke there, he managed to keep the lead to the 2nd section before the White Comet ran him over and pulled away 250m+ from the dude's FTed NSX.

Ouch...

Played 12 rounds online with mostly level 59~84 players and won 9 lost 3 today. The new Tsubaki map DH is horrible. I suck at it. But it was a close race, lost by 5 meters.

Lost in Akina as well. Zzz. Was leading 100+ when I crashed and it couldn't be salvaged anymore. The last map I lost was akina lake CCW. Lol. By 4 meters.

Hi, to those R32 users, care to share how u find this car? Performance and cornering wise? Acceleration and etc?

I am planning to get one soon.

Many thanks. smile.gif

Posted by: Randy Mar 24 2011, 07:43 AM
@skylord2002

Good acceleration, able to corner pretty well on high speed section (especially on corners like Usui or wide hairpins on Tsubaki Line).

Handles pretty stable unless you tend to steer around too much. Sometimes tend to understeer if you fail to enter drift mode though. sad.gif

Correction: MASSIVE UNDER if you fail to enter drift mode due to it being 4WD facepalm.gif And now I know how it feels when Nakazato hits understeer while cornering... pinch2.gif

I was at Marina Square today so yeah...Played my online games there...

I had another 1 round after posting on ID forums as I went back again and played 3 rounds.

Won 1 @ Akagi UH, 1 @ Tsubaki UH, and lost BADLY on Happo OB...

Happo OB is horrible! I kept wall raping at the last check point. Haven't figured out that map yet...I'm only doing 2'48"XXX for Happo OB and the dude who smoked me was like 2'43"XXX ?

Ouch...I guess I should play while I still have a bit of cash left.

Otherwise it'll be very hard for me to at least get a pair of Zone Wings for my card when the price really increase to a point where I'd have to think twice before playing long. sad.gif

Fun fun day biggrin.gif

- Lv Up! 53 to 77. Most of my later level ups came from online battles (they are really making it tough to level up otherwise - 30k+ for a level up?).
- Legend Level Up from 18 to 35.
- Completed all courses for tag...don't seem like there's anything though. sleep.gif

Most of my online battles are against the Japanese.....I only got one non-JP player (was a HK player). Didn't survive very well initially but I guess I have a 50/50 win rate now :S

Posted by: Randy Mar 25 2011, 07:57 AM
Congrats Cypher on level 77. And wow...Chapter 35 already...that means your wings are shining real nice now... awesome.gif

I wish I can get to there soon and experience online battles too. smile.gif

Once you reached Chapter 25, your wings will last as long as Fujiwara Takumi's Wings. (Just like the final episode of Another Arc: Soaring White Wings). biggrin.gif

So congrats on reaching maximum Zone Wings. happy.gif

VERY low chance. I only saw one HK player, the rest all Japs. Not surprised though, the number of Japanese players on online battle greatly outnumber the rest of the world.

you gotta be kidding, crazy timing for Akina, yes; Tsubaki, no.
compare with your Tsubaki UH timing which just 6sec+ with the world ranking, our Tsubaki DH is 9sec+ away from world ranking...

It seems that ID6 Garage is not that advance like BG3/BG4 Garage, which I not able to check the CPs timing for the course...

It lasts longer and is brighter, and Randy says its maxed out at Chapter 25.

The Legend Mode's supposed to test your limits against CPU opponents that keeps getting faster and faster. You can always use it to challenge your own speed limits. smile.gif

Once you reached Chapter 25, you pretty much don't need to play Legend Mode too often, unless you're really desperate for experience without online. But since we've online now...yeah...sweatingbullets.gif

Online singles or offline/online tag gets you to level up much much faster than if you stay offline and loop Legend LOTS. Especially when your card level reaches the upper 60s - you need about 15-20k...and right now at 77 i need 33k exp to the next.

The 2000+exp offered by Legend LOTS isn't really worth much once you get your aura at 60...but I suppose I will go back there for a bit when I start to full tune my Type R / RX-8...

Posted by: Randy Mar 25 2011, 04:25 PM
Well, true~

But I still got 34 levels to go before that. So, I'd just take it easy with the Online Battle and focus on FTing my R32 first and gain my aura and wings ASAP. tongue.gif

We just got IDAS6AA here in the Philippines last 2 days ago. Proud to say I was the one to play it first here in the Philippines.

Anyway, the game is fun as heck. I've been hooked ever since I first sat on the seat. I really do hope we get online but seeing as there is no area code for the country makes me think there isn't gonna be any online functions here.

Leveled up to 21 at the moment. Driving an NSX @ Spec 4. I just unlocked Legend mode and I lost due to the damaged steering wheel. I'll probably play more on Monday.

Any tips from the pros here? It's kinda hard when there isn't anyone here that knows the game that good to give me any tips. Usually, I'M the one telling them stuff but I still have lots more to learn!

Lastly, what's with the wings? Do you lose it when you lose in Legend or something? No way of keeping them? D:

Posted by: Randy Mar 26 2011, 02:31 AM
Hi IronShounen.

The Zone Wings are actually awarded when you completed Chapter 2 onwards. The wings will shine brighter and last longer before it dissipates as you continue to clear Legend Mode. The maximum length and brightness of wings is attained after completing Chapter 25. smile.gif

Posted by: IronShounen Mar 26 2011, 02:45 AM
Oh so that means, after I've finished the Legend mode, I can see the wings every time I play like the auras?

Also, what are the four options when you reach 1000km? I know that one of those options will let you choose your car's handling settings like drifty or grippy. What are the other three?

Posted by: Randy Mar 26 2011, 03:07 AM
Yeah, the Zone Wings are a nice addition other than auras. laugh.gif

There are a total 4 settings. From grippy to drifty:

Stability >> Balance >> Mild (default) >> Peaky (Warning: dangerous setting except for Cappucino, from what I heard.)

Usually play with japan must be extra careful, compare to ytd which is win or lose also fun! Haha.

Actually peaky is okay for other cars, just need to control the drift properly which need alot of practices. You can try for Iro DH. You can see the peaky usefulness.

Oh! I think I can imagine how useful that will be! Then getting another car makes better sense now! Like for example, one car for TA, one for drift battles and the last one for grip battles!

Thanks for the info! biggrin.gif

Got my baptism of fire earlier today for ID6AA. I ended up making another FD Type RS (Gahd why I suddenly remember that I racked up 13+ million points with the RS in ID5, mainly for naught?) despite the temptation to use an NSX. I ended up using TETSUO as card name (paying homage to that dude from "Slam Dunk").

And I was pretty surprised to hear BOV noise with the RS this time, considering the RS had no such sound back in ID5 (but the Type R did). I couldn't hear the over-rev beep that much though.

Level 8, currently heading into upgrade #2 for SPEC-3.

Pretty disappointed with myself because no matter how I tried to make adjustments as far making the car drift is concerned, the angle is too steep for me to correct the slide... which, of course, leads to a rude greeting with the inside wall.

Back to the drawing board.

I'm willing to help you but I don't really wanna go to Trinoma cause it's such a hassle to go there. Specially when I'm broke. If you're really willing to learn, come visit Robinsons Ermita and I'll teach you a few things that I know so far.

Anyway, most of your questions can be answered by reading the IDAS6AA FAQ thread but I'll answer them anyway.

-Settings will affect how twitchy your car is. Sensitivity. Correct me if I'm wrong. I only started 3 days ago.

-You get the settings after reaching 1000km.

-To modify the exterior of the car, when you insert your card, pick the second option. From there, choose your car that you wish to modify. You'll be given three options which are, accessories (exhausts, wheels, stickers, etc.), kits, and finish without doing anything.

Tip though, don't bother with the visuals when you haven't FT'ed your car. It's best if you FT it first.

Bro, you goin to TZ tomorrow? I could help you with that drifting problem of yours. I personally don't like teaching online, I'd rather help you in person so if you're dropping by tomorrow, just alert me. I live in Robinsons Place Manila so I could drop by anytime.

@Iron

Brian and I are trying to see if we can run a bit faster... I kinda think high-in-low-out is a nice technique to use...

I am still having difficulties in the whole system though... I will come to TZ RP later... I dunno about Bri... I guess he will too since we are looking up at the videos to see how it is correctly done...

EDIT: I forgot today is Sunday... I dunno if I'll come or not...

The next time I play might be two weeks later. Gotta deal with some more important stuff. Probably April 9.

Either way it'll be extremely difficult for us to level up since we're the only country that has no online connections enabled for ID6AA machines. Heck, even South Korea that never got EXP 2.0 for ID5 has online enabled for their ID6AA cabs.

It did help me for somehow. Mad it easier to turn since the feedback wasn't that strong and that means less effort used to turn which = less sweat. Lol.

And talking about pro's, I'm still a far distance away from top dogs like winner, Jo, edge and soonzi.

Hi everyone, does anyone here knows whats the top/max speed for R32 full tuned? Akina lake? smile.gif

Posted by: Randy Mar 27 2011, 04:28 AM
Not too shabby a day at BTS. happy.gif

Finally get to continue Legend Arc and won my first ever Awakened rival (Tsuyoshi Hojo) at Myogi UH. I swore I would be a goner if any of the opponents are in Awakened state. blink.gif Good thing I managed to use a bit of Myogi's experience from D5 and kept a safe 380m+ lead to the end.

Met Cypher, J*J*, IN, Kenji, and finally Icey as well~ smile.gif

Online battle wise, suffered 2 loss from overleveled opponents X_X While managed to steal a win from a level 40+ FDRS... Japs sure are tough... sweatingbullets.gif

Just a few more tunes and my R32 will be in Full Spec. smile.gif

Leveled from 21 to 32 today as well~

Legend Arc from Chapter 2 to 8 today.

I sure need to spend more time on grasping the psychics of D6AA before diving in for another round of Online Battles. crying2.gif

-Leveled up from 28 - 35
-Legend arc from Chapter 3 - Chapter 11
-Left with 2 more components before i Full Tune my NA1, till next week then! smile.gif

- Levelled up = Lv93 to Lv99 smile.gif Lv98 to Lv99 you need 100k EXP O_o, need about 1.8-1.9m exp overall....
- Had tag battle with a whole lot of new people...I think my list for tag partners is full now.
- FT'd my FD Type R, working on RX-8, which is now on Spec 4 happy.gif

I don't know about that yet...I got my Lv99 from Online Tag Mode...didn't battle much on singles for today since I'm more of a win 1 lose 1 kind of person sad.gif

You start from 10 points though, that's all I know for now. It's now shown on my start screen like this :

By the way, sometimes the game notifies me that I pick the course (especially when it's my turn since its supposed to be alternating) but when the opponent info is shown, he/she's the one that's picking it....is this normal?

I haven't got a chance to test online battles after Lv99...my Pride Points is 10 because they give you 10 to start with.

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 27 2011, 07:32 AM
I see. Btw, how many battles do you reckon you need in order to gain 13 levels at least from level 77?

Also, any tips or suggestions for more effective online battles? I think you're the only person who has the most number of online battles thus far.

Posted by: Phoenix_Cypher_K1 Mar 27 2011, 08:26 AM
I took about 30-ish battles (assuming you VS Master+ players meaning you always get that 10k bonus) from Lv77 to Lv90. Battling them to their own home course helps speed up things (vs Master+ class players you get an additional 15k - that helps a LOT - but of course that's assuming if they even set it on their card).

I don't really have much advice here other than dragging them to your best course when you get course selection - because the Japanese really punish you for any mistakes you make. Then again it could be my inexperience with the game physics because I only played so few courses thus far that when the Japanese choose anything than the ones I've played 9 out of 10 times I get dusted really badly. Doesn't help that as I level up further I get more and more Lv99 opponents (yes, even those with the awakened aura...) but that's just the game matching you to an opponent with the closest level they can find.

Rei.G is right - Online Tag Battles is far easier to win if you ask me and a better source to level up...singles you only get (on average) about 10.5k EXP if you win.

Double Dollar today...and I think I am getting more of the game.

I kinda figured out the game, but maybe it is the way I tap the accelerator, my right leg's kinda numb after a marathon session today of 50 bucks.

I am looking at 2'46'x Usui CCW with a Step 4 Levin 86. I can't for my life figure out Akina DH's positions to tap the brake and do the tapping of accelerator though, it's a lousy 3'16'2.

I am left with 50 bucks, and probably playing this Wednesday noon in Woodlands.

So today I went to Yishun TZ...finish Another stage 4...in the middle of Step 5.

I really hate how bad the wall-hit goes. One hit and boom, your timing's gone.

That said, I am getting Usui better...2'44 with some taps here and there, probably can hit 2'42 if I don't have a tendency to go try to up the ante and overspeed into a corner.

I also am looking at Akina DH a little better. 3'12. Not exactly gold standard (does this even make a difference?) but I am closer.

I have a big issue with the harder courses though, starting from Happo...I don't even think I know the course.

U have exactly the same thought as me..
which I dont particularly share with most hongkongers..

TA has become an important factor for battles..
at least in a greater extent than D5..
however when u have more practice and experiences,
u will sooner know there is still difference between them..

In TA, currently the most important issue is
aiming at the top speed when exiting corners..
when u have high speed it even doesnt matter if
u have some non-critical wall hits and no "Drift"..
vice versa, u must accept some wall hits in order to
give the greatest exiting speed possible.

In battle, it is a different scenario because of the factor of boost.
I cannot really clearly conclude how the boost mechanism works,
but the fact is, when u encounter even minor wall hits,
u will get certain punishment and reduction of boost..
The punishment will be accumulated and
it can affect ur overall performance severely and the feeling of ur drive..

It is more important in avoiding any kinds of wall hits
regardless of exiting corner speeds,
even in some cases u have to shift down to avoid hits.
When u dont have any hits while ur opponent does,
the boost will help u in a "ridiculous" extent..

Still I am investigating on battle techniques and strategies,
things will change when going more depth..
looking forward to battle with u..

In addition, I have to state that Levels are really unimportant..
I can once win 99LVs easily, and got easily beaten by 10LVs...
Levels are the same as battle classes in D5,
they are meaningless despite of giving aura..

Posted by: Phoenix_Cypher_K1 Mar 28 2011, 06:55 AM
Boost feels odd...there's the one with the startup which I seem to get a huge headstart everywhere (got up to 200+m on Tsukuba for example) except Usui and Tsubaki Line where I lose start.... think that was discussed before. You're right that TA really helps for battle.

Hope to meet you in online battles as well...so far outside of Japan players I've only battled HK players twice in online singles....none from Taiwan, SG and Korea yet....

Startup, to me, is just a balance mechanism of boost.
Whether which scenarios having faster startup are still under investigation,
but up to now I have similar cases with u that
I only lose startup in limited number of roads,
like Usui,Tsukabi Line and Akina Lake.
But still u have to use it properly to make it advantageous.
Things are not that simple as thought..

Hongkongers mostly like to play TA and Tag Battles,
only few like to play single battles.
This is the same case as in Korea and Taiwan,
so mostly the opponents will be the Japanese.

All timings were just marginally faster. Need to work hard tomorrow especially for Akina and Nagao! Crashed a couple of corners if not I could have gone faster....

Posted by: Randy Mar 29 2011, 05:27 AM
@Jesse

Actually, there are 3 Arcs or Modes for LOTS. First there's Original, then there's Another. And finally there's the limitless Legend Arc.

in Legend Arc, you encounter random opponents while you're given the rights to choose the course of your preferences (Beware though; beating opponents constantly on the same course can be dangerous as rivals will be even faster than before depending on your frequency of choosing the same course).

Awakened Rivals will appear (and it apply to ANYONE; including the Speedstars Trio or even the weak guys like Night Kids and Kenta. tongue.gif) and they're DEAD fast. Your opponents will have Awakened aura when your loading screen's done loading with a purple spark appearing before the battle starts.

They also randomly appear, but rarely. Beating an Awakened Rival in Legend grants 3 bars-filling, hence completing a chapter instantly from Chapter 1-9. smile.gif

Posted by: IronShounen Mar 29 2011, 07:13 AM
So THAT'S why the AI in Usui suddenly felt like they became faster. I was constantly spamming Usui since it's the only track that I can finish without much mistakes.

Now I'm spamming Akagi and Lake Akina. XD

today new card from level 5 to 8. not a big deal but had some crazy race for a newbie like me. i was in my 86 and i was leading in front of this FD the whole time in Akina. last couple turns i accidently drift a straight turn and crash into the wall crying2.gif i was really disappointed in myself i wanna get better fast. i think im really good at cornering laugh.gif thats where i really pull away from them. i tap the break really quick and go into a drift.

reving 1/4 and flooring it when it says GO seems to work a lot better afor a battle also.

@IronShounen: based from your last post, it looks like a card can still hold 3 cars like in Ver 4?

Anyway, I just finished Original a while ago..having difficulty vs. Emperor at Iro..also, just got to level 27 from 17. smile.gif .Im just missing 2 parts from Spec 5 before I FT my EVO X..im thinking of getting either and Evo VII or an Evo IX...

Which is better: Evo 7 or Evo 9? do 5 speed and 6 speed cars have a big difference? TIA smile.gif

@jayden21

Evo VII seemed pretty stable, seeing a few runs from regulars in BTS. smile.gif Evo X's got insane acceleration, from my POV. Not sure about Evo IX though.

Today was fun:

- Leveled up my 2nd card from Lv43 to Lv70.
- Tagged with Ritch, Izashi and Matt (Rinoa), won almost all the tag battles.
- Changed my 86 colour to Pearl Red.
- Renewed my Lv99 FD RS/FD R/RX-8 card, no problems smile.gif

Posted by: Randy Mar 30 2011, 06:18 AM
Cypher, renewal price is the same as buying a card, right? :x

Posted by: Phoenix_Cypher_K1 Mar 30 2011, 06:23 AM
Yes, same price. RM16 (plus the initial RM2 to start the game so RM18)

Posted by: Randy Mar 30 2011, 06:29 AM
Ouch, guess that's more money to spent on. sleep.gif

Oh well, I guess a card can last long if you don't eject it too often.

On the other hand, I sure have pretty rotten luck in finding even opponents in Online Battles lately. =.=; Hope my luck gets better next time...

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 30 2011, 06:58 AM
Gosh, you guys level up SOOOO fast!!! I played like 60 rounds today and only went from 82 to 84...

Played about 7 tag battles with both CPU and In store and did a couple of TA's with loads if force quits. Bad day for me today...my TA's were rubbish.

Got my Akina DH to 3'00"XXX and was running a second one to hit below 3'00"000 when I screwed up at the consecutive hairpins again!!

Happogahara OB 2'43"XXX happogahara IB 2'45"5XX and USUI CCW still a crappy 2'42"XXX. Can't seem to go below 2'40 cause I can't stop making mistakes at the last corner...

Nagao DH was 2'56"XXX...I'm hoping to hit 2'53"XXX tomorrow! CP2 and CP3 is really tricky!

@Randy : Most online battlers with levels above 65+ are not easy if you are not used to the physics...and I seem to get these players the most even when my card is level 20-30ish previously.

@Yakiniku : Online tag battles helps heaps smile.gif

Posted by: Randy Mar 30 2011, 07:08 AM
@Cypher : Yeah, and I am still trying to fully grasp the psychic of the game, since my chances of playing are really slim compared to you guys. D:

I'd just have to bear with it until I get the hang of it. xD

Perhaps I should try tackling Akina DH once and see how well I fare. :x

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 30 2011, 07:32 AM
@cypher: online tag battles only work at certain arcades here. And their prices are more expensive. At the arcades that I frequent more, the online battle system is laggy so it's unplayable...

3 slots left before a Full-Spec Levin is up. I am looking forward to it.

I did a 2'42'276 in Usui CCW, 1st platinum, =D. Kind of the only track I know how to run currently though. Sad.

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 31 2011, 03:47 AM
That's really fast considering it's not yet a FT car. I'm running only 2'42"6XX on my FT NA1 for that map.

Guess I should work harder on it!

Posted by: Heron Mar 31 2011, 05:22 AM
You are faster in other tracks though...-.- Usui's layout is a lot more forgiving, although the wall is very brutal there too. I guess I am gonna try Myogi next, work my way up, since I can't figure out the cornering for Akagi and beyond as yet, even if I got pass the noob stage.

I hope I can hit under 2'40 after FT and the settings unlock.

Posted by: Randy Mar 31 2011, 05:26 AM
Gee...my personal best on Usui CCW was only 2'49 =.=;

But I sure hope I can shrink the time further once I am done tuning 2 more steps of my R32. sweatingbullets.gif

And you're right about the brutal wall penalty in Usui...in Legend Arc, you slam a wall there once, you're finished...seriously...the guys in LOTS now sure won't let you get away with mistakes anymore...unlike D5 where you can still relax a bit...sleep.gif

Posted by: Bumpercam Mar 31 2011, 05:55 AM
First impressions on AA6...

This game is UNGODLY slidy. Like driving a 825/DG slidy, if you pardon my MTspeak. I, raised in the firm grip of 5, am simply overwhelmed... Especially since I am barely learning to drift properly in 5.

Also, what's with the tacky feathers? This isn't Final Fantasy, sheesh.

Posted by: Randy Mar 31 2011, 06:01 AM
@Bumpercam

The Zone Wings are originally from Takumi's "Sky Soaring Wings". LOL! laugh.gif

You gain it after you cleared 2 Chapters in Legend Arc of LOTS. The wings get shinier and last longer before it dissipates though if you clear more and more chapters. smile.gif

I'd say it's another fun element to add other than auras. happy.gif

How are you supposed to do the consecutive hairpins in CP1 Akagi DH?

Saw the WR was 2'17 so you can't be doing them in 2nd gear, but if I take them fast I either tend to understeer or oversteer to the point full lock countersteer won't save me.

Posted by: yakiniku Mar 31 2011, 08:21 AM
From what I saw during Winner's 2'21 run for Akagi DH, during CP1:

The first large corner is done with a full lock left @ 3rd gear and then you move up to 4th during the sweeping right and down shift to 3rd almost immediately to drift across.

Once you get past that, prepare for a full lock left again (car tends to understeer right out of the sweeping right turn) and then drift @ gear 2 pass the hairpin and the next upcoming hairpin should be done @ gear 3 and you're about there.

That's for CP1. I only managed 2'27 because my CP1 always seems to be in quite a bit of a mess and my CP2 long straight with consecutive left rights is a hit or miss thing...If I'm lucky, I'll go pass it without hitting the walls if not, I'll wall rape quite a bit...Lol..

Posted by: Vodka Mar 31 2011, 08:49 AM
Lol. I'm figuring CP1 too. The consecutive turns just before reaching the CP.

If I don't accel, I'll do it right. But it seems out of point to not accel for quite abit just to get past those turns. Significantly adds abit more time to my CP1. I'm only at 2:34. Zzz.

@Vodka: I think all it takes is TIME and good rest so that you have good concentration...

I tried USUI today and was dead sure I was gonna hit 2'39 had I not crashed straight into the wall at the last corner...

The entire run felt pretty good compared to the day before after I had a good rest.

Done TA screwed up in CP3, instead BNR32 4WD needs some drift skills, going uphill im starting to get the pyshics on it,instead i screwed up when going akina downhill.

Today I think I get the secret of drifting in 6AA. In 5, I must press the brake pedal deeply to get the desired deceleration effect; in 6AA, all I must do is a swift tap on the pedal and then follow it up with a gas. The difference is like between a chaste peck and a full-blown tongue-playing french kiss awesome.gif

First opponent was a LVL 99 with rainbow aura (awakened). Played Akina Lake CW...lost by 60m. Zzz...

And guess what, my next 6 opponents were all level 99's... 3 of them picked MYOGI UH, Tsubaki UH, and MYOGI UH again. Lost all 3. The next 3 i picked akina DH and AKAGI UH and AKAGI UH and won them all.

The rest of the battles were level 84's, 96's and 98's

1st harpin corner with gear4  ohmy.gif

Thanks , I already saw it couple days ago but the cam angle was terrible, can't see the speed so I don't know when he degasses.

Still no idea how to do CP1 , for some reason I can't clear the first corner in 3rd unless I 'PC' thrice (which is obviously incorrect) and drops my speed down to 110, if I 'PC' twice while simultaneously dropping from 5th to 3rd I tap the wall slightly exiting around 122 but I want a clean run. I was originally doing a 5-2 PC once then upshift to 3rd in the middle of the corner, very clean and comes out on the inside but if all the pros are doing it in 3rd I want to learn to do it the 'right' way.

For the consecs before cp3 I degas slightly for the right curve before the long left curve, degas early for the following right curve, drop to 4th and tap brakes for the left curve then drop to 3rd with a slight degas for the right hander just before cp3. Can do all of it cleanly, but not sure how to do the V turn without any wall contact.

Running a '26"??? now but it was far from a clean run, basically had a fast cp3 but had a ton of wall contacts in cp1, 2 and 4. Hands too blistered to continue so I had to stop.

how many chapter do i have to complete?

You get them after finishing Chapter 2 but it ain't really clear yet, right?
So after completing more chapters(there is no limit to Chapters but after Chapter 25 full wings will be there for you) wings will start to become clearer and clearer until perfection. smile.gif

The best all rounder car is the AE86 Trueno. Tried it myself.. rest of the cars sux when compare with it.
AE86 can exit corners with ease.

After seeing MENG@ playing its untuned AE86..
I think I have to also get an AE86 becoz it's really much easier to drive..

But I am still in a dilemma of thinking to get an AE86 or GC8 or NA6CE, particularly GC8 and NA6CE superior than AE86 in terms of battle methodologies.

(I know that TA performance is important for D6 battles but I always think of also the scenarios in battles)

That can only mean one thing: trinoma would get its own internet connection soon!! I can't wait to see tag battles finally!

On a different note, I just FTd my evo X and got some exterior mods..it looks like a monster now ohmy.gif

I think you missed my point. It was an April Fool's joke. We MIGHT not receive any internet connection at all. Although ID6 is pretty popular in the Philippines, it's still up to ID.NET if they're willing to support our country.

I don't think TZ can do anything about it until ID.NET starts online service support for the Philippines.

@nachan96

Uhuhu...you should be mostly aware of the opponents in Legend Arc though. As Chapters goes on deeper and deeper, so are the levels of everyone in LOTS (and I do mean EVERYONE; not just the strong tiers.)

After Chapter 15 onwards, even Fake Project D can run Happogahara at pretty impressive pace if you make even 1 mistake during the lead, let alone Itsuki.

Also, be advised that it's best to refrain from spamming the same course over every opponents as the more constant you choose that one same course to race opponents in Legend Arc; their speed will increase drastically until you're beaten.

Last but not least; beware of "Awakened" opponents. (with Rainbow Auras) wink2.gif

Unless you grasped the psychics well enough, bumping into even an Awakened Itsuki, Fake Project D or Two Nimrods from Tokyo could really spell SUDDEN DEATH for you. pinch2.gif

it seems so hard , but it's seems challenging too in the same time laugh.gif
ahhh i see... i can't run happogahara very good.
my time in story mode is so usual , not too much different from D5 *my time after all this time i played.
please forgive me for bad english biggrin.gif

i'm not spamming to , i tried all courses biggrin.gif

@ nachan96

Me neither, but it's best to try that course at least once or twice in Legend, in case you feel cornered on other courses. If not; the best option is Irohazaka, since the AI will most likely slow down A LOT on those tight hairpins.

Awakened Opponents will appear once the loading screen is done loading with a tiny little spark of light appearing, which signals the current opponent you're facing will have Rainbow Aura. It applies to absolutely anyone, so best be praying the Awakened ones are NOT the Double Aces, Ryosuke, or worst case; Bunta or Death God.

@Ishida

Times Square has 4 machines.....not 2.

Today :
- FT'd my NSX from scratch
- Lv Up from 70 to 78.
- Legend on my 2nd card up to Lv27.
- Did a fair bit of TA, among them, 57"8 Akina DHD 86, 02"8 FD RS, 36"9 Tsu OBD 86, 35"9 Tsu IBD 86..

That's all....very limited things to do today when online is down, and yes, it's STILL down. =.=

Had about 19~20 battles today and lost 11 of them...Met a huge load of LVL 99's as usual and the verdict:

I SUCK at MYOGI and TSUBAKI!

Overall, these are the only 2 maps that I got smoked pretty bad at the end while the rest were really close fights.

Lost 2 rounds on Happogahara by 2~3 metres and I was surprised because my TA for that map is 2'44 and during battle, I wall raped a great deal and ended with a 2'58...zzz.

USUI CCW was alright but USUI CW was bad. Lost to a level 56 on it.

As for TSUKUBA, I lost one round to a LEVEL 91 on OB and won another Level 99 on his HOME course: Tsukuba IB dry.

Overall, battle today was really tough and I sucked real bad today. Time for some good rest and a new and fresh start tomorrow!

the only arcade in Singapore which lets you battle overseas is at Tampines, right?

yesterday night, brought down Nagao DH Dry timing of 2'53"xxx to 2'50"029

No, I tried it myself before on Usui CCW and then compare the speed of the opponents on CW.

If you constantly choose for example, Akina DH for your opponents, they'll be extremely tough eventually on DH.

If you choose UH instead after all that spamming on DH on Akina, the opponents are surprisingly slower and more tolerant. Of course, try not to commit any big mistakes as much as you can...since in Legend, the AIs can still punish you a great deal; should you wall rape constantly. pinch2.gif

Though I remember I once smoked Kyoichi on Usui CW (after spamming CCW like crazy without knowing the increase of difficulty), I left him in dust on a lead of over 1000m+ facepalm.gif

Some "Emperor" he was....laugh.gif

Figured out how to add cars so I added the red NA6CE to my lineup. Also, I draw the conclusion that one can tune cars by doing one LoTS battle repeatedly provided that s/he can provide the points. I really have to practice Usui before moving on... Drifting mechanics and timing still elude me.

Events today at BTS:

Leveled from 40 to 44

LOTS Legend is starting to pressure me pretty hard right after I entered Chapter 17 (especially Purple Shadow and Sidewinder)... D:

Won 2 out of 3 in-store battles today. The last battle was due to my epic-phail on recognizing the rhythm of Akagi DH. I realize that I seriously need to practice on that course; whether on Legend or TA. X_X

Akina DH time is quite mediocre as well...even though I managed to get a 25 second differential... (3'37'xxx > 3'12'xxx) I believe I can still cut my 10 seconds if I keep on practicing. smile.gif

Tsubasa Leveled from 7 to 10

Tuned the NA1 to Spec 3, 3 more battles and Original Arc is completed.

NSX sure gave a promising impression on me, seeing it's able to handle really nice and beautifully on both DH and UH. Sometimes oversteery, but once I got used to it, it's pretty fun actually to counter and steer slightly on big hairpins. laugh.gif

Overall, not too bad a day. happy.gif

P.S: The God of Cars also came today. Though I expect him to come earlier...since I was about to leave that time...I believe you know whom I meant, Icey...you saw him too on usual during the time on Leisure Mall. shifty2.gif

@ Randy

i've battled the Death God today on Tsubaki Line Downhill...
and my Chapter's gauge was totally full with just 1 battle...
i beat Omiya on Usui with 'Awakened' power , and just got 1/3 of the gauge

today's result :
finished Legend Chapter 5
got the White Wings
level up 30 -> 35

Posted by: *VIC* Apr 3 2011, 06:01 AM
Finished my tuning for GC8.
Leveled from 27 to 39.
Played from Legend Arc Chapter 4 to 15.
Played Usui Counter-Clockwise Dry and got a timing of 2'40"9XX
Hope can get 2'38 for the upcoming event.

-FTed the NSX.
-Level 35 --> Level 41
-Legend Arc Chapter 11 --> 15
-Usui CCW Dry 2'43"665
-Nagao DH Dry 3'04"509 --> 2'59"411(Aiming for my D5's standard smile.gif)

well...
i dont really feel that lvls have any significance anymore since levels will never go down.

it only goes up anyway.
(correct me if i'm wrong... i dun recall see anyone lose levels before)
so anyone who plays enough, long enough will reach lvl99 eventually...

so we will all be lvl99s sooner or later?

Posted by: yakiniku Apr 3 2011, 07:26 AM
@stormfox: that's true and it's probably one reason why they have pride points. Most of the 99's I met that day had like 200++ victories and 500+ pride points.

I met MELTY@ who's like ranked no. 12 in the world on the pride points list as well. It's quite insane racing these guys.

Anyway, FT'ed an AE86 today and IMO, it's probably one of the better cars out there. A casual run on Akina DH with quite a few mis-drifts and wall raping got me a 2'58. Hoping to try for a 2'55~2'56 this coming Tuesday.

Got my MYOGI DH to 2'33"1XX with the 86 as well. Hope that I can shave off another 3 or 4 seconds provided that I don't hit the walls...

After that, I'll start practicing USUI CCW to prepar for Thursday's event.

Anyway, leveled up from LVL90 to LVL 91 today...

Watching him play TA is insane...He makes it look so easy and all his records are so close to world records...

As for me, I need to practice a lot more...My Usui SUCKS! facepalm.gif

And @ Randy: The AE86 is an awesome car...Not the easiest to Drift but stable as hell and you can gas it all the way while drifting without much tail slide like the NA1...

My NA1 is ONLY used for running Irohazaka DH/UH and MYOGI since the slippery nature of the car helps quite a bit on these maps..

Well, seeing how he easily took 1st place on Usui CCW in the car rankings of the AE86 Levin...

I need more practice I guess. It's a frustrating feeling, as just as I thought I got it, I wall rape at the next hairpin. I am thinking that I should be able to hit 3'06 if I don't love the wall so much, since my fastest CP3 took me 2 seconds faster, and my fastest CP4 took me 1 second faster...

Today's results...

Myogi DH 2'44'x
Akagi DH 2'37'0

And with my Akina DH still at 3'10'x...sad.

Yep. I just can't put a proper run with the full concentration. Yishun TZ's 2nd machine from the left underneath the light doesn't help since I sweat a lot and I get into a lot of trouble when sweating.

And I feel like I am getting it, but it just slips away. It's extremely frustrating.
