I'd like to extend a thank you to the beta testers, and a HUGE THANK YOU to Perry and Vince for getting the server-side stuff working. The Beta Crew, in no particular order:

APX
Smikey
SgtXDNX
The New Guy
Pikachu_Fragger
Fused

Thanks to you we've confirmed what we can and can't do with this, and I'll be looking into if there are any further tweaks we can do to get some more functionality. Let's see, what happened...

-Magical Battle Arena Online (Failed due to CPU Cycles and net lag)
-Tsuyokiss
-MOERO Downhill Night (Failed due to overlay output mode)
-I-DOLL (Failed somewhat due to CPU Cycles)
-Outlaw Star episodes 10-11
-Zero no Tsukaima episode 2
-Digimon the Movie
-Kodomo no Jikan episode 1
-The Big Bang Theory episodes 1-2
-Ichigo Mashimaro Pilot Episode
-Random clips from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS and Hellsing Ultimate
-Random AMVs

So, what did we learn? Subtitles are viewable, quick scene changes (AMVs for instance) work, aspect ratio is maintained and I need a more powerful computer for doing gaming.

See you next Beta Test! wink2.gif

Crazy question, but you test any HD videos? I noticed this test included random videos...

WTF... when the hell did this happen and why wasn't I informed? I was under the impression that all of this was taking place on Friday, leading me to toot my horn that I'd be all over this, and now that everybody was apparently doing this last night as I was saying all of this, I look like a f**king idiot.

It was an Invite only laugh.gif

But I was no share of my fail as always, just proved even more that I'm an idiot when it comes to computers, that or I just need to read more.

I was looking for ya everywhere, Tessourr. Couldn't locate you. I was just informed yesterday that I had to work on Friday morning. So I can't do extensive testing tonight. We'll be testing the server tonight around 11PM ~ 1AM PST.

If this was for the IDW-TV, Perry asked like everyone who was on, I think.

Your welcome don, enjoyed The Big Bang Theory show you played, good stuff. smile.gif

And yes, the beta still needs some fixing and tweaking, but everything seems to be going very well, if only it allowed us to play games with no problems. sad.gif

Yes, the beta testing was fun and informative. Alas, this does put a bit of a damper on Eronight, as Don mentioned that he would definitely need a better computer to run his stuff for better screencapping. Right now, about the best we can do about that at this point is to just point a webcam at it and hope that works.

The North American continent needs to have one timezone only, like China. Then there won't be any more confusions. laugh.gif

No, because my computer can't handle it. I can play HD videos okay on my own, but the screencap program which is streaming the video has overhead on top of the normal playback, and therefore makes playing HD content impossible. I would need a better rig to do that. Same with animated eroge, sadly.

No it wasn't, you idiot. Stop trying to get Tessou pissed off. rolleyes.gif Anyone who wandered into IRC chat (like you, Killa dry.gif ) was given the link. Hell, I gave the link out to Bozzy and a few of my online friends as well. There was nothing invite about it. Had Tessou been online, it would've gone through just fine.

A coworker of mine is letting me borrow one of his rigs for testing purposes. Its specs:

AMD Opteron (dual core) @ 2.6 GHz
2GB PC3200
750GB HDD

Then I just slap my 7900GS into it, install XP and the necessary programs and see if it improves some of the capping stuff. In theory, having separate affinities means I can load one core with the gaming/video stuff and do capping entirely on the other core. We'll see.

Have I mentioned doing this stuff in advance for the parts that can be done in advance, and playlisting as much as possible? It might not even hurt to just do live chat and have the video up after, so there's not so much strain on the system trying to broadcast at the same time... tape delays SUCK, but they maybe couldn't hurt just yet.

EDIT: Screen captures can be processed in real time, then run by NSVtools - which just so happens to have a batch converter for NSV (nsvate.exe). These could be played back at any later point.
