i feel that rx8 is still pretty dominant in ver4 as in ver3 its just that gear6 has a little pickup lag which may cause fatal situations in certain maps

i think that AP1 is the best car around besides of AE86T..it turns well jus like 86

S2000 is the best car in the game in my opinion.

I dont know why people dont like altezza, i can run some pretty good times with it...
what car can match the AE86? easy, the option is there AE86L

though quite seriously: i run better with GDBF, than a GC8...
My fav cars would be the Altezza, MR2, FD and RX-8 though, they are pretty good; though the 3 FF's are quite nice

Hmm, this is a tough thread. Yes, the AE86T definitely claims top rank, but the rest gets a little mixed. There isn't really an OUTRIGHT 2nd best car. I can say that the AP1 is definitely the 2nd most popular, if not more popular than the 86. Seriously though, If one takes a look at the rankings, you will be able to notice that the AE86 LEVIN is pretty much a slightly downgraded version of the Trueno. It under performs everywhere compared to the Trueno by just a small amount, with the exception of Akagi DH where the Levin performs slightly better. So yeah, I would say the AE86L is the 2nd best, but when you've got the AE86T to choose from, whats the point? So I would go with the AP1 myself, since it performs better on what I think is the most popular course in this game: Tsukuba.

If you say AE86 is ugly, then AE85 is even more uglier I have a full-tune AE85, so it is really heart-break to hear that AE86 is ugly

on dry courses i pick the s200
on wet courses i pick the cappucino

i raced against a lot of high ranked 86L online. that car performs real freakin good. still i just recently got an S2000 and man that car is just godly. to bad everyone has one.......

wow, just tried cappucino... its pretty good, the shortage of 1kmh-1 isn't much of an issue O_O

Every one km/h gain shaves off every milliseconds in a large scale.

sure the AE86 trueno may be the top-ranked car in dry and wet in ID4, but its status there is like what the rx-8 held in dry in IDv3... both cars may top the rankings in their respective versions, but they're both not easy to use...

i may sound biased here but the S2000 and the GC8 are the best all-around cars IMO... for me, for a car to be considered the best all-around, performance shouldn't be the only factor taken into consideration, one must also put into mind ease of use and the fun factor involved...

but that's just me and my two cents, i still take my hat off to the dedicated owners of EG6's, DC2's, 85's, S14's, etc. out there...

the trueno is stil one of the best all around cars in the game.. and you can use it on almost every course (except for lake akina where the +1 kph matters a LOT)

also, the 8v, which almost feels like a trueno with more power.

iunno...i would go with the EvoIII coz its the only car ive been using in ID since version 3 haha, i think its great especially wen u get MFS also u might be one of the rare ppl who uses it (i for one am the only one with a near FT EvoIII) and i have beaten the Truenos and S2000s but it depends on u (my games could have been by luck =p)

i have the FD. and its pretty good but sometimes its feels like it lags really bad. but i only have 1 eagine upgarde. so im on the market for a different car but i dont know what to get i was thinking the S2k, gc8, or a evo. if anyone uses an FD let me know whats up.

FD is an awesome car so dont worry too much. if you want a better car then the S2000 is the way to go.

I vote for the FD3S.

Though that is because I've handled that car far more than others.

all the cars are fairly different in their own way anyway. it just depends on what your used to.
personally i love the EK9. it has fast take off speed and good stability. i always smoke my friend with it and he drives a GC8V

wow u 2 could dig up threads that have died for so long... grats.... but i think s2k/8v could match the ae86

nice thread.. interesting no one spoke about the Silvias.. mind me but the FD is only good in Akagi Dh and UH.. its just me..

nah, the FD is good just bout everywhere. its one of the most well rounded cars. then again maybe its not the cars that are different but the drivers

agree with you.. check out the rankings and some of the times can be achieved even without using track car.. xP

For me it would be the Subaru GC8. Stability. but based on that perf/v4/ ranking. The answer would be the levin for dry and cappu wet

ae86, you have to budget some space on the outside of the corner as it's gonna slide a little away from the apex. GC8 won't but GC8 turns abit too well for a 4wd though.
