So, one shop that I want to order something from requires that you pay for the product in Japanese Yen and recommend Pay Pal.

I remember a few years ago Moebius/Apex Carver implied to me that Pay Pal is not safe... has this changed or is it a risky service to use when linked with a Visa card?

That was more in regards to use as a way to accept funds.

Don't link a bank account to your paypal account, always use a credit card to fund your transactions, and you should be fine.

Oh, so with a credit card, it's a lot safer, okay, that is a lot more reassuring now... thanks!

If it makes you feel any safer, I've used it for just about 9 years, and haven't ever had issues myself.

Same. I always use a credit card instead of my bank account with paypal and I've never had a problem with it.

Zero issues here, but I guess I'm one of those idiots who linked his bank account. Never had a problem, though, bar one time when I accidentally forgot to switch currency to JPY. Let's just say my bank WTF'd when they got a request for that much. awesome.gif

Linking a bank account is only bad if you use it to receive funds, otherwise you are clear too ( and by receiving funds I mean running an online store or something along the same number of transactions ).

Linked it to my credit card. Like the others, no problem as of yet sending or receiving funds.

Remove the s in http. Solves it. It should not be a secured connection... that's why.

Me too, I've been using my credit card to pay using PayPal. No problems.
