First of all, what do you mean by Type R? There's an Rx-7 Type R, WRX Type R, and an Integra Type R? Which one? And welcome to the forums.

Do not take turns without slowing. Hitting the wall takes far more off your time than just going slow. My suggestion is to check out the main IDW site or www.initialdarcade.com for techniques. Stick to Out-In-Out for small turns and do Faint Drift when you can.

depending on which car you are talking about there are different things that you can do to take iro the best. but the best thing to do is first learn what you CAN'T do with your car and then push it to it's limits.

Attn FC Drivers -

I didn't want to start a new thread on this since it goes along the same topic of "Irohazaka advice," but I need to know what gear I should be taking the hairpins at. I'm doing 3rd right now but losing way too much speed.

The problem may not be the gear but that I'm taking my foot off the acceleration too much.

Bottom line is, I can't beat my previous time attack records for some god awful reason, and I think the pins are it.

There's a lot of goldarn pins so it may be it. Try Outside-inside-outside, if you get better times, good. If you don't, try faint drifting. Reason being some drivers have reached a level of skill where they can tackle harder techniques.

Out in Out is the basis to the game and by the time one reaches Irohazaka, they should know that. If not they skipped a couple people on LotS. If your driving a FC, thats a god damn drifty ass car. You wouldnt have to take your foot of the accel to much since itll start driftin. As said before try a faint drift. (Inside, move out, in, out)

Thanks for the advice KrazFD and Jason_H.

I've actually kind of been doing the feint drift motions without actually doing the feint drift, it seems. To compensate for the FC's sliding I generally start the hairpin a bit earlier than I used to, so that I almost hit the apex, ensuring an out-in-out motion. Taking my foot off the accel too much probably is the problem...I'm going to try going half-off, or maybe even a quarter off the gas today. I'll try starting from the inside and then going outside for the feint too.

Once again, thanks. I'll tell you how it goes.
