If the error comes out during card insertion...the card is busted, and most likely, data can no longer be recovered.

Yes, despite how thick that card is compared to Wangan or ID1/2/3, it is still vulnerable to wear and tear damage as well as magnets.

Seeing the card is busted after just 20 games why not just buy a new one from the machine?

Thanks a lot, because their are 3 cars inside so lost $ for the car. Need to be very carefull to not expose the ID card to magnet. Advice noted...
Here is the pic of the error 409, could sombody please translate it?

If you can open the box beside of pedal and gen in setting mode.
there will be recovery mode.

The IDAS4 machine manual (i bet the error messages are the same for IDAS5 since its the same machine) states that:

> A license cannot be read during insertion
The inserted license is damaged

the box says:
Is the license positioned correctly?
Please confirm that your Initial d license has been inserted correctly.
If inserted correctly, data is damaged.
406 or 409 or 412

----------------------------------
rpm.w:

1. looks like its either Card is damaged (irrecoverable of course)
or
2. the machine reader have issues.

but.. if someone else plays with another card just fine.. then its left with #1

----------------------------------

Ever wondered what is inside the card?

i took apart a card once... and this is all i found... an RFID chip.

maybe its not magnetism.. heat... or even flexing the card can kill if it just so happen to damage the chip structure

chances low. the ID4 machine manual says nothing about recovery for this 409 error.

the data cannot be read in the first place... so how can the machine even have a copy to replace with?

this is not like the 403 Card Dispensing error where the data is read into the machine but unable to write to a new card. the Manual has a few pages on how to recover for this error.

From what I know is my friend accrue this error when inserting the ID card, then there is a pop up error 409... My friend need to remove the card to play. Base on stormfox explanation the only error that we could retrieve the data is error 403...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh!! I got a tip from another player!
Use the key of IDAS machine and get in setting menu.
select 'TEST GAME MODE' menu.
then there will be 'IC CARD RESTORATION' menu.

Shortly,
1. SELECT 'TEST GAME MODE'
2. SELECT 'IC CARD RESTORATION'
3. there will be displayed on monitor like this(example)
SELECT ACCESS CODE : 0101-6157-8436-6625-9239 (1/1)[*]
RESTORE
EXIT

the machine save the data when occured error as i have known.

The machine will only backup the data for ANY card if there is a save failure (either during eject or renewal of cards).

If there was no save failure that happened earlier, his card data will not be on the machine.

Even if his data is on the machine for any reason, the only card that can be used to restore the data is the same card that it had errors with (no other card - not even a brand new one works) because the data is tied to the Access Code (the numbers behind the card).
