Also of note, the PPL Purolator is actually a master pack filter, right? Those filters are designed to cover as many part numbers as absolutely possible to allow for less shelf space to cover a higher percentage of vehicles. A shift from OE should be expected there. I like the idea of the tailpipe cutter too, I've done that in the past and it works very well. |

I had a EX-friend who had a RB28 fully built lots of money in it right? the dumbass bitch runs a fram filter. one day going down the 1/4 mile the filter implodes sending all the crap back into the oil pan this clogged the strainer and he spins a rod bearing. motor was a total loss. I'd never trust fram I'd rather use my underwear as a filter then that garbage ass filter. This post has been edited by s12drifter on May 25 2012, 03:21 PM |

I've been running Wix now, no problems. For me, the K&N filter was just an excuse to over-tighten it. This post has been edited by Spaz on May 25 2012, 08:12 PM |

All this while i've just been buying it from the local VW stockist whenever it comes to oil changes |

^ with this. i usually try to run a bigger then stock oil and fuel filter as it takes longer to clog and change intervals are longer. well i change my oil every 2 months because of the heavy dudy abuse i put my car through but still im usually on top of it. Why is that a surprise? There's a reason why not every shadetree mechanic is a professional engine builder. |
