Show us where in the thread you specified this information, you ungrateful little...

To be fair, you kind of have to assume that unless said mother had a child at 16...

But I digress. I doubt a 50-year-old lady with bad wrists could handle a manual.

So, maybe something with paddle shifters?

I don't know much about modern cars. Sorry.

I am to assume that any mother has bad wrists and cannot drive a manual?

My mother drives a manual. She's older than your mother.

So how about you calm down a bit, buddy-boy? There was nothing wrong with Rudy's suggestion and everything wrong with your response. If there is some physical reason why someone cannot do something specific to your situation, specify it. If you don't specify it, don't get pissy when someone doesn't know about it.

Ah, hell, all in good fun. I'd rather let her decide and honestly, I don't care if she's older than my mother - it's not really bragging rights than personal choice.

But anywhoo...

Found a silver '14 BRZ near my neck of the woods... And I had a feeling that the 6,500 miles it has on the clock would be telling an interesting story considering the hundreds of dried leaves found in the car. Thank God I had a pair of gloves... But it was strange that they were willing to let it be taken out on a demo drive before detailing.

The only time I've seen that done at a dealership was on the wholesale lot, for cars with high mileage or major issues. Usually, they tell you "Not for sale" until it is cleaned up.

So, your thoughts on the car?

Leafy detritus aside, she was more comfortable than I had imagined - same goes to the FRS. I'm not going to say much, but I think they (Subaru and Toyota) might have hit their mark on this one. I might see by the end of this month if they're willing to budge.

If a 61 year old man with terribly arthritic wrists can throw around a notchy, brutal T-45 and make the gearshift his bitch, I don't see how a 50 year old woman with similarly bad wrists can't handle one of the easiest engaging and lightest throwing gearshifts ever made.

So what? That's all I have to say on this matter.

You can always ask her if she's okay with it. She may find joy in it. I know firsthand the 86 is a completely different animal once paired to a proper three-pedal transmission.

I'm not going to ask her when I know what the answer is. I don't really see why this has to be a discussion considering her personal choices.

You could just not give a fuck and do what you want.

Just a suggestion. Always works fine for me.

Can't fault him for being a mindful son. That's one reason why I'm looking to move out: so I could lose some freedoms to gain others.

I think it was more that you only made her personal choices a big deal after getting mad about us not knowing her personal choices which you never told us until after you got mad. troll.gif

And I got mad how? rolleyes.gif Though seeing how one little jab ended up producing unnecessary posts, I thought it would be best to close this for now just until a second update.
