N/A engines with 8-cylinder engines are becoming very rare in production cars. Hell, the F10 M5 (twin-turbo V8) artificially produces engine noises through speakers to give the driver the illusion of a louder, n/a engine. F1 tech ultimately has to benefit the cars we drive everyday. On the plus side, tire squealing and the cheers of the crowd are now audible. A lot of race attendees stated that ear plugs/muffs weren't necessary. This post has been edited by Fast on Mar 18 2014, 10:32 PM |

It seemed as if there was fierce battling and overtaking on every single lap. Maldonado going full retard and T-boning Guiterrez on the racing line was facepalm worth but the subsequent safety car period and restart admittedly made for an explosive last few laps. |

I wasn't into F1 as a kid and so I had never noticed him if I ever caught a race on television sadly. This post has been edited by RalliKai on May 1 2014, 11:41 AM | ||

I don't know if anyone else has seen the video of Bianchi's crash, but I've got a lead weight in my chest. He's alive, and that's awesome, but only barely. I just can't wrap my head around the concept of hitting a tractor with a 1400lb car and moving it 6 feet sideways... And surviving. I hope the best for him, his family, the Marussia team, and the rest of the drivers in the wake of this. |

I haven't seen any footage of the crash but from what I've read, he had some luck on his side too. This post has been edited by RalliKai on Oct 6 2014, 12:27 PM |

This sucks. The worst part is that it was preventable. There was ZERO reason for any recovery equipment to be on-track without a safety car. |

I mean, I'm pretty sure he does too, but at the end of the day things can happen. This is racing, after all. |

The double threading of the needle was just awesome to watch, and it ended up being a good race for a while too until Williams inevitably fell off. I'm guessing part of it was the fuel consumption, if you looked at the numbers mid-race, they were really pushing those cars to keep up with HAM and ROS. Even though they dropped off the podium by the end, they had a great showing, and honestly, VET has been nearly a podium staple all year so it's not exactly a surprise. Pit strat really was what determined it all though. |

At least that's what I believed in and what a lot of people thought could be. Speaking of Ferrari though, they announced that they're retaining Kimi for another season which is great news. They need these 2 WC's to bring the team back to it's former glory and if they jump Mercedes next season since this year's car is pretty good, maybe Kimi can win another one before he retires. People have been giving him a lot of flack since his return to Ferrari even though he is their latest champion. |

I'm not sure the condition of Rosberg's tire that blew out at 190mph during practice (holy shit, that was an impressive save though) but two high speed tire failures on two separate cars gets me leaning one way pretty hard. |
