Hey everybody. I know, I usually don't post much of anything in the computer section, but I finally got fed up with my bland logon screen this morning and set out on a journey to make it better.

Normally, this is the logon screen every Windows 7 user gets if they have a password protected account:

Not that great, right? It clashes terribly with my normally dark theme setups, so something had to be done. Normally, you'd have to find and replace certain files, mess with some registries and whatnot, to get the result desired. A free and safe program I chanced upon today does all that work for you, and it fixes any glitches that may come from abnormal image sizes (both actual filesize and image dimensions).

NOTE: ONLY FOR USE ON WINDOWS 7. DO NOT TRY THIS ON A DIFFERENT OS.

Tweak's Logon Changer is what I used. It's tiny and extremely easy to use. Just push the change button, locate the picture you want to use, and the program will do the rest of the magic for you. It has a button to test the splash screen once you make a change (it just executes the screen lock command, or Windows Key + L), so you can approve or disapprove before making the change official.

Sometimes the little things make life better. A simple cosmetic change made my computer "flow" a lot smoother, and gave me a sense of wellbeing. Maybe it'll help yours, too. happy.gif

Umm no offense Tesso, but do you really like that login screen? Don't get me wrong, I love the 11th Doctor, but I dunno, I wouldn't have picked that picture... maybe just of the TARDIS and some accompanying related-icons?

That's just an example. My login screen is the usual cleaned Manhunt splash screen I've used for months.
