Yes it's turning into a full resto facepalm.gif

Its just once I fix something I'm like well might as well do this while im there, then this and that and well fuck it now I'm doing the whole thing! Might not finish this season but I want it to look nice and be able to tour a few race tracks in Canada.

Can get KYB AGX for a good price through my shop, also Eibach and H&R, ughhhh this cheap project is turning really exspensive!

Things are looking good. Worked on it a bit yesterday and located a coolant leak. I think it's the lines that are supposed to go into the throttle body or idle control valve, also maybe found the root of the idle problem. I never adjusted the throttle cable after we installed the new engine and got it running.

I'll be recording the painting process as well with my go pro if anyone would like to see something specific.

So the IACV had a block off plate on it while it was in the race car, removed it and now the car runs fine!

Got started on the body yesterday, got the bumpers and fenders primed and started sanding down the quarters, they will need some more work to reshape them, also the doors are pretty bad facepalm.gif

**DISCLAIMER** BE AWARE THAT I AM DOING A HALF ASSED JOB AT PREPPING/PAINTING, THIS IS NOWHERE NEAR MY SKILL LEVEL THAT I AM CAPABLE OF DOING, JUST TRYING TO DO THINGS FAST AND VERY CHEAPLY**

Got a lot of work done this week so prepare for a photo dump! Debadged the hood and tailgate, got them primed up and painted black. Got the fenders and rear bumper painted as well. Got the body primed today and will tackle the roof when I have some more time.

Well she's home! Drove it yesterday, clutch and brakes still feel spongy even though they have brand new fluid, I'll bleed them again and go from there.
Gotta fix that muffler too, its way too loud.
Mounted the oil catch can as well.

Took the Civic to rallycross last Sunday and had a blast. Couldnt believe how much grip this car has on the dirt and how easy it was to rotate with left foot braking. Since the course was pretty tight I just kept in in 1st gear and drove with 2 feet, now I really want a car with a DSG transmission.
Was having overheating issues but have since fixed it, the ECT sensor was loose and not keeping pressure in the cooling system.
Bought some Hercules or something rather winter tires for the 14"s Enkeis and raced on those.

Awesome! How'd you do in class?

The car looked pretty well planted and controllable, and your inputs looked fairly smooth for how slow of a rack the car has. Nice driving!

Sorry for the late reply didn't see your post!

As for my times I probably would have won my class if I was able to complete all my runs.

Took her out to AutoX last night. Half way through the first run the motor blew, sounds like a rod bearing. Very disappointing was not expecting the engine to fail after only 2 events.

Well now we have all winter to save up and wrench. We have decided to go for a B18b from a base integra. They are cheap and available. One of the things we hated on the d16 was the stock mounts and we didn't want to spend the money on them because they would not work on a b series motor when we upgraded.

Since we are doing a swap we don't care about classing anymore. Rear of the car will be gutted. Going to look for some proper race buckets and harnesses. I installed that Momo seat last week but it was still too tall for my friend to drive. So we're going to remove the headliner and sunroof. Replace it with a piece of lexan or whatever is needed for safety.

All in all this little Honda is costing much more then we anticipated but the fun times spent on the track and laughing between friends makes it all worth it.

Sucks about the motor but sounds like you've got the right attitude about it. It's the journey and the people you take it with that matter, not so much how much it costs.

Hope the swap and the rest of the prep goes well.
