Initial D World - Discussion Board / Forums > Version 4 General Discussion > What steering sensitivity do you use?

Posted by: Roaddawg Aug 17 2008, 07:42 AM
I just want to know what other racers use. I use 7 and i think that it's more realistic and easier to control.

I once tried using 10 while driving on iro and felt like i was half dead afterwards. laugh.gif

Please say why you use that particular sensitivity.

lawl. i use 4/5 since its easy to control,
but not that much till you lose control,
(1 on iro sucks, if you lose your grip,
- try straightening your car, by the time
you're done, your opponent is like freaking far)
and 10 is obviously killing since you'll get exhausted -.-
oh yeah so 4/5 is right for me,
....but thats just me ermm2.gif

I use 10 in ID3 and of course I use 10 in ID4..ID4 is way too light and I hate it..sleep.gif" Steering 10 is not exhausting even in Iro.. grin2.gif I'm not making this shit up,I'm serious

Shinrei: lol.

I use 4...not to light and not to heavy. Perfect for feeling the car and countersteering.

Actually I think 3 is the balanced one but for me after playing a few games I get use to the wheel and 3 is too light.

Posted by: broccoli Aug 17 2008, 12:01 PM
I use 1, mostly just one good flick and round and round the steering wheel goes. Or maybe my arms are too weak for the high levels?

Posted by: xXNICKXx Aug 18 2008, 08:15 AM
i use 10 cuz i play wet maps lols

Posted by: PeterTWJ Aug 22 2008, 11:35 PM
I am using 4, for me it's just nice
I would like to try 3 or 5 next time, perhaps i can control my car better and faster.

Posted by: K3vin Aug 24 2008, 05:01 PM

See?Told U SO!!! grin2.gif But it's TOO LIGHT!!!

I think 20 will suit Me,or just make it 10, but like the one in ID3..

Posted by: Weezy Aug 24 2008, 07:31 PM
I might have to try 10 out if I ever play.

Posted by: Roaddawg Aug 24 2008, 10:56 PM
Maybe I'll switch to 10 too. To me, 7 feels lighter now.

Monkeymarc: I'll beat your friend Core next time! With

BOOST ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehehe chair.gif

lol. come to think of it,
you haven't raced me yet.
when you wanna go?
btw i'd rather go whitesands,
the machines are better(?)

Posted by: nigg Aug 26 2008, 01:48 AM
if you have the stamina for 10 it would probably give you so much more control.
i use 9 just because its my favorite number, and it helps me =P

Posted by: PeterTWJ Oct 26 2008, 08:33 AM
After playing for weeks and getting better strength, I changed to 7 and the control was so much better, but at 1st while i drive using 7, the back of the car tend to hit the outside often...

Posted by: icedagger Oct 26 2008, 08:39 AM
I use 8-9 because IDES steering stiffness is really stiff. smile.gif

(8-9 in the arcade matches stiffness 3 in IDES)

Posted by: shenny93 Oct 27 2008, 04:36 AM
i just use the default steering =)
i don't change anything other than the volume sound xD

Posted by: MonkeyMarc Oct 31 2008, 09:41 PM
i use steering10 smile.gif
better control -> better timing,
at least for me ermm2.gif
but apparently right now the machines at WhiteSands are so wrecked
that even at steering10 settings, the wheel feels like steering0 (seriously!) pinch2.gif

Posted by: Maikeru Nov 1 2008, 05:21 AM
Using 1. Personally I think it's easier to use as all I have to do is flick the wheel a little and it's already full turning then another flick and it's back in the middle.

Posted by: Zim Nov 9 2008, 12:55 PM
I use 3, I'm not sure why, I just did and got used to it as time went on... I guess it's like 1 in that I can actually steer one-handed with more efficiency than most. I like it, too... so yeah.

Posted by: marauder340 Nov 11 2008, 06:20 AM
I use 4 cuz I haven't bothered to change my settings since I turned Force Quit on. XD

I'm thinking of trying out lighter steering levels once I get enough free time.

Posted by: takumifujiwara13954 Nov 13 2008, 03:49 AM
My one-handed steer requires 2 or 3.

Posted by: Avegaille Nov 21 2008, 02:09 AM
I got for the 6-7 sensitivity, depending on which car I'm driving... hmm, usually, I try making AP1 the 7 while the AE86 the 6 (cause my wrist hurt after 10 consecutive plays). But that's just me...

Posted by: PeterTWJ Dec 17 2008, 08:54 AM
I changed back to 5 sensitivity. Easier for me as it is lighter, so I will be able to use less energy to turn the steering wheel, drive with one hand and relax, so it can prevent myself from being too "hot" in the game and getting injured. laugh.gif

Posted by: ENOLA Dec 26 2008, 12:57 AM
Steering 2-4 when the map is dry.. and 5-6 when the map is wet..
steering 10 sucks LOLS

Posted by: DigiBunny Jan 8 2009, 04:56 AM
I didnt really feel that much of a difference from 6 onward, so I just pushed it to 10.

I only really noticed it when it was 1 to 3.

Posted by: Andro Jan 9 2009, 07:54 PM
I use steering 8 so that I can control the car well

Posted by: Jojoushi Jan 29 2009, 12:48 PM

Posted by: whipwhop May 21 2009, 02:37 PM
i used to play it on 3-4

but i've moved it up to 8 and i feel more control and i think i got used to it already so anything under 6-7 makes it feel too loose

Posted by: AdrianOngs Jun 1 2009, 05:19 AM

when you insert your card and it loads there will be a screen with ur avatar, the car u used and the amount of points you currently have. Press the view change button (i belive) to get to the next pages which are like your TA times then the last one is the game options. go down and you will see wer it sez sensitivity, just pres left ofr right for which u want.

Thank you thank you akira you have found me a new way to enjoy the game more =D

Posted by: akira86 Jun 19 2009, 07:40 PM
just changed my steering to 10 and it seems that it feels more "real" to me fear2.gif

Posted by: DRIFTGEAR Aug 4 2009, 07:40 PM
Only until about a month ago I was using the default setting. I was stuck on Takumi and I usually steered too much and didnt brake enough but then I tried 10 and it was AWESOME! I really get the feel of the game and all of the little nuesances like oversteer slowly drifted away. and after about 6 plays I beat Takumi (Akina). and I started to get faster corners e.g I can go through those corners just before the RHOD around 155kph and I learnt proper braking since I changed to 10. That helped me so now I can take corners like RHOD at low 140s and the 3 lane turn (I think otherwise known as LHOD) at 141kph and the hairpins I'm faster. It made me feel restraint. Now I have finished LoTS once=D hope this helps anyone having a hard time choosing

i'm using 2. ver2 and 3 have been using it, so i got used to it. Yeah =)

Posted by: ongKHEL Dec 14 2012, 06:33 PM
