I go to the first machine, I buy the card, gender, select car, color, at/mt, license plate, region in Japan. Okay great, I play two rounds then eject card. Card looks fine with the japanese writing etc. I go to a second machine (at a different location, and arcade brand) - when I put in the card, it says error and doesn't matter which of the four ways (I know only one proper way, but after 4 tries just tried all others). I tried it on 2 of the 4 ID5 machines in this second arcade and neither worked and only gave me this error. I went back to the first machine, and it works fine. What is this first machine's version? Do you think it is the most compatible? Thanks for your help... at a loss. (Didn't get a chance to see where the version (or where) the label of the version it is. Let me guess ... you created a card on a v2.0 machine and used it on a version EXP machine.

And for anyone here in North America, which is the version that get imported? ** I've read that the 2.0 machines which aren't able to be online are the ones where I CANNOT renew my card, therefore its a complete loss ultimately? If it says EXP V2 it can never be used on an EXP machine. Yes, the EXP V2 is better given it has alot of features the EXP ver never did have (check the faq pinned). As for the offline EXP V2 issue, your playcount on the card will be stuck at 11 until you play at an online machine. So essentially you never have to go through any renewal. Of course, there is always the risk of the card dying through wear and tear since there is no renewal ever taking place but I have seen cards created since the EXP1.0 release going through well over 300-400 eject cycles and they are still in working order. |

in common sense, v2.0 is better than exp ver. but you can't use a v2.0 card on a exp machine. it's not a complete loss, at least you can still play time attack, legend of the streets and in store battle...

Are any China ID5's outside of Shanghai connected? It doesn't say anything on the official ID5 website, so if its not listed, its not connected or what? Go to the machine and look at the top right of the screen: If you see FOUR square icons, it is definitely EXP V1 and thus, no online. If you see THREE square icons, and the icon on the right is lit, the machine is EXP2.0 and online enabled. If you see THREE square icons, but the icon on the right is greyed out, the machine is EXP2.0 but not online.

The machine I use in China is a Jap version (I pick my region in Japan). Is it possible I go to a Hong Kong Machine to play then (the online ones)? Probably not right? I read on the FAQ that on every eject, I should get the upgrade option, but I don't. Is this still 2.0? Even when I eject after one game, it doesn't give me option to upgrade immediately, only after about 3 games. Even when I do the upgrade selection, I select 2nd option to go to upgrade screen, I select my car, I get 2 option, I select the left one, and I end up at the choosing menu for which stage I want to fight? Did I do something wrong? How do I turn on "accept challenges" while doing story mode? |

Yeah, the card is, theoretically, eternal if you're on an EXP machine. Technically I suppose you could. I mean if someone from say Singapore goes to Malaysia with a 2.0 card and can play, then this should work too. Assuming we're talking about two 2.0 machines and cards. If that's the case, you have an EXP card; the first one that we got outside japan. You can't. It's either completely on or completely off. *CoughTHATWASGAYSEGACough*

Nope, only the number is frozen. Your card still can work. Yours' is ver. EXP, I think. The Region is just for show. I don't know what's with your upgrade selection part though. Post a picture? And you can only turn on the challenge mode during the choosing menu thingy. And referring to Digibunny's post, yes, so long as it's the same version, the card can be used anywhere, regardless of the country that you're in. But then I have no idea how that would explain the other arcade I went to where it totally denied my card. Did the Chinese make their own version, has anyone heard of this? Don't have a picture with me about the upgrading but.. 1) Insert Coins and then card 2) Choose 2nd option which brings me to garage with the OK button 3) I only have one car, so I select my car with the pedal 4) Asks me a question with only two options 5) I select the left one, I get booted out. (would also like to say that, my current ID5 card doesn't even say Exp 1 or Exp 2. The place where it is suppose to say in the FAQS doesn't exist on my card) ---- Edit: Looks like I have this https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37952&hl=rx7 International Export 1.5v? So that means 1.0 and 1.5 are not 2.0 even though 1.5 shows internet capability at the top right? Someone who knows please explain?
