but it is well known that fwd cars are naturally bad for drag racing because the weight of the car shifts to the rear during acceleration, creating less traction at the front of the car.

FF cars doesnt do less burnout because of the weight of the engine on the front wheels ?

sure, a 4 wheel drive system has an advantage over a rwd, simply because there is double the rubber to transmit the power to the road, but it is well known that fwd cars are naturally bad for drag racing because the weight of the car shifts to the rear during acceleration, creating less traction at the front of the car. So in a fwd car, your drive wheels have less traction, making it harder to get off the line.

Absolutely true cool.gif

I would think that if you had a car that had the same engine, same weight, but one was FR and the other was FF, then they would both have the same 1/4 mile time. The FR car would get the better launch, because it has the power where the weight shifts to. With the FF though, it has less drivetrain power loss as compared to the FR, and have more HP to the wheels to work with. I haven't tried this myself or seen anyone test it though, so i could be wrong laugh.gif
