Hey peoples laugh.gif , just wondering, do you usually battle(in-store) with Boost On or Off? Because personally, i prefer Boost On, especially on maps such as Irohazaka, where if you make one wrong turn, you're screwed lol. And besides that, when someone(that you dunno) tries to turn Boost Off, do you usually go with that the other person wants, or stick with what you prefer? ermm2.gif

Boost Off.... so both parties do their best to catch up or leave the opponent behind... i think this mode separates the ____ from the ____.... I prefer the Boost-on for friendly battles or just wanna have fun without pressure...

@topic starter:
thats the essence of a battle.... u make a wrong turn, ur screwed... u should catch up/win on your own, and dont rely on the boost...

Sometimes I like boost on because it's more fun. Think about it, what's more fun than tryna lose some dude that sticks to your tail and catches up to you no matter how much the both of you mess up?! But if I wanna battle seriously, I play boost off.

Definitely Boost-Off. Plus a battle can be pretty intense/interesting if you're against someone who manages to keep up the whole way, too.

but den if u all think of it...

boost off = very technical . one mistake and u're gone case.

boost on = makes the battle more intense. provide a sense of excitment and tension cos even a weaker opp can overtake u anytime at the end. hahaha... playing boost on certainly will keep u more concentrated and awake... =P

well, it gotta depends on individuals.... if i wanna have fun, i would chooose boost on... if i doesnt like the other guy..maybe boost off ? =X hahaa..

I prefer boost off if the opponent is around my skill level. But if the guys way below me then i usually go boost on just to atleast give him a chance of winning.

in ID4's case, i prefer boost off battles to make them true tests of skills, since performance gaps between cars are not that huge anymore... unlike in IDv3, where i prefer to go boost on, esp. in cases when it's like evo 5 vs. mr2 on tsuchisaka...

since the 1.2 patch boost on battles were so fake i was glad to see the improved version in 1.5 ... the boost is not as crazy like before n what i felt during several of my battles i think is more or like a boost off battle if the opponent doesn't knows how to play than u will have an added advantage ...

as usual the art of bloking n your start up tech is the main focus on the battles in 1.5 of course your skill on the maps muz be good ... smile.gif

i would not mine both either on or off ... if my challenger step for off than i would be glad to give him a good run ...

if the person is just really bad then i just give them a headstart
@sechkie > i would never give him any head starts as is like an insult for any opponents ... i will take all my battles seriously .... hehe laugh.gif

agreed with you jimmy.. i think that you should never underestimate your opponent.. as anything can happen.. he or she might look noob but he or she might win u by alot.. never let your guard down.. that's what i learnt through years of playing ID

always boost off. with boost off true skill is needed. you can tell ur oponents skill from a boost off match. with boost on a noob can still keep up with you or even pass you. with boost off if you can overtake ur oponent ur better than him if u get out run hes better than you. if ur right at his bumper at the end your ethier equal or better than ur oponent. one thing i like to do when i'm with my friends and theres no one else playing we run boost off leader chaser fashion. i like playing that way the most.

What if you guys are pretty much equal and you're the leader? That means you win, right? If that's the way you guys play, then I would LOVE to be the leader.

techniquely it would be a win on ur record. this is for bragging rights. but if it stayed equal at the end then he would rematch on the same exact course only that person would would switch positions. it keeps going until someone either outruns the person(leader) or if you over take and finish (chaser). so it could go on for a while. which is y i only race like that when its only my friends playing. (dont wanna seem like we're hogging the machine.) like what wataru said. if our skills are equal then other factors like luck and endurance come into play.
