Yes. Read the thread on "Kylie's" Single Turbo.

Shift points have already been discussed in depth for the Type R and FC models.

You can probably find a good amount of information in the FAQ, especially from the link to GameFAQs. Be sure to read before asking for tips. ChaiThai's FAQ happens to have a section by section set of instructions.

My guess is you're either hitting walls or not taking turns full throttle when possible.

Thanks for the good information Isolator. As you can see, a lot of these questions have been asked before. You can find them by browsing around. (well its already up there) 2'12'00 is impossible. Well not impossible but not done yet.

if you are only running a 2'26 you are no where near ready to aim for a 2'12. pulling a second off your time gets exponentially more difficult the faster you get. for now just focus on not hitting the walls. once you can do a clean run with no wall contact, then shoot for a 2'12.

im fairly sure 2'11 is possible, you just need a huge RS AND a perfect run.

I already read the faq on gamefaqs.com..all 3 of them...but they didnt give an in-depth faq on how to take on akagi with the fastest time possible...the faq by ChaiThai says that on the consecutive m-turns you must brake on the third turn...On akagi i dont brake!!! i just take on them with accel off or sometimes with full speed...Can anybody give me an indepth faq or tips on how to take on akagi with the fastest time...mainly im having problems with 2 turns in akagi...namely the first hairpin left and the EXTREMLY sharp right turn after the second checkpoint..Please help me with those..i would glady appreciate it!!! grin2.gif grin2.gif grin2.gif TY!!!!!!!!!! happy.gif

you need to use the brake to get lower than a 2'18.

my normal exit speeds for each turn are
(+-2 kmph of course)

all turns are a good line with no wall contact at all.

cp1 (39.0)
141 light brake and accel out
157
140
137
134
??(depends on the turn before it mostly)

cp2 (28.7)
142
156
130 brake hard down shift to 4th and turn (clean exit is more important than exit speed on this turn)

cp3 (34.7)
143
148
(easy right at 153)
157
(easy right at 162+)

cp4 (31.7)
155
153
154
153
(easy right at 160ish)

those are my best section times and exit speeds. if you can do 90% of those turns at a similar speed in one run you can easily get a high 2'14 like mine.

that sounds like a 14 run maybe. i only do 15'4 and seem to match everything cept for V-turn (never consistant) and the right hander before cp4. that 157 is feint or no?

I also heard even if you have a full tune <990,000 and above> you will also gain more hp on your card by gaining more points.

For example: AE86 (Option A) with 1,000,000 points loose to a
AE86 (Option A) with 2,000,000 points even if the
drivers are equal in skill.

can anyone verify it? ermm2.gif

The V-turn. I use to take it at 135-140 only because i figured instead of taking like any normal turn, i would hit the inside of it and slow down enough 135-140 to go around and not hit the outside wall. Only been tried in my car with me driving but that can only be done in Ver. 2. Which i now dont have coz all 4 of the machines are Ver. 3. Damn them. Yeh, i tried the way i previously stated and it didnt work, took me down to 114. Not kool dry.gif . So that should be a way of taking the V-turn. Glad to have helped.

if you exit any faster than 132 you will either take the wrong line or hit the walls, either way it is a lot slower.

maybe thats why he's the FD king like he says in the other thread, heh. but running even a time of 17, a 126-128 clean out of the v-turn is more than good enough.

oh yea, for got to mention. the v-turn, 2nd turn in cp2, and last turn in cp4 are the most important turns on akagi. if you mess up on any one of those 2'14 is nearly impossible.

even 158 might be possible, i exit 157 using out in midout. if you use out in out it might be faster, but its easier to mess up and hit the wall, which is just devastating to a fast run. to do the turn faster you have to be entering at 162+. what are your section times for that run? i assume your cp3 and cp1 are really fast, because mine were fairly slow when i ran 2'14 (cp1 was .4 behind!!)
