what i usally do on most of the hairpin turns is i downshift into 3rd and as im in the apex i throw it into 2nd (shift-lock) while tapping the brake a little and then counter-steer out

U should rather rev at 3rd gear and let off gas easier to turn this way, but it take more time and i recommend u do not do this at every hairpin. I used my FD and i did it all the time, my timing suck

Something I find quite useful on Irohazaka in my Spirit R is to downshift from 4th to 3rd and eraser 3rd/2nd into the corner, then exit in 3rd. If you pull it off you can get an excellent turn in and if you throw it back up to third and accelerate out at the right time you can be exiting the turn and upshift to 4th almost immediately.

Before you reach a corner....switch down to gear 3......let off your accelerator......and turn......after turning......press ur accelerator again.....hope it works for you......otherwise you could brake when you turn.....brake and don't press the accelerator.....

i think braking when u turn is faster than just letting go.

Go try it first before you say anything...........if you're using a 4WD it might be slower......but if u use an FR it's faster.......go try it........it's a gd technique.......works well for me and my FD3S.........btw.....to make this work.....change steering to 1.......so that u can fully turn....

I guess I'll be the only one to spew out a guide in actual english in this thread...
When braking for the corner, downshift a bit earlier than normal to help the car decelerate more quickly [<--lol, oxymoron!]. Approach the corner on the inside, but swerve outside as quickly as possible. This should be done so that you can still take the normal out-in-out line through the corner, but the swerve should be as sudden as possible without crashing at all and meld perfectly and jerkily to the out-in-out line. Try to adjust your line and entry speed so that you can floor it right at the apex and end up on the outside at the end of the corner as close to the wall as possible without touching. One last tip: I'm not sure if this one works with 4WD cars like your own, but if you, when turning into a corner, shift down and then up again almost instantly, the car should turn a bit better. Or it couldhead straight into the outside wall...I haven't tried it or seen it in action, so I dunno yet. Lastly, only try to adopt these techniques one at a time. If you try them all for the first time simeltaneously, I garuntee that you will butcher every last one of them!

PS: THE WALL IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!

ok..im a techie when it comes to tech courses like iroha...i have an 86 opt a

coming to a hairpin in 4th gear in an FR downshift to 3rd a little earlier than the normal braking point, then swerve out, lightly depress the gas, when youre almost at the apex and it looks like your understeering downshift to 2nd and turn all the way in. should send you into a dad (deep angle drift). then countersteer fully and tap the wall a bit. its kind of a cheat and puts ur speed up a bit.like rubbing against another car

Has anyone stacked cars before on Iroha using jumps? If so, how and with what cars? Seemed like the Iroha thread, so I posted here!
