How many posts do I have to make before I can download full episodes with english subtitles?

Posted by: Perry Jan 10 2013, 06:31 PM
The direct download links are only provided for forum regulars for convenience. You will have to make anywhere from 50 to 100 posts or registered on the forums for 6 months or longer in order to see the links. They are not meant for newcomers. It pays to contribute to the community. For the time meaning, I recommend you using the torrent to download the episodes...

Might I also remind OP that when I see things like this:

It doesn't really look like 'contributing' to me. More like necroposting to pad out a post count. Luckily for you I'm not staff and have no say in the matter. derp.gif

I know. I really need to talk to Perry about this whole one-warn-per-day thing.

Sorry, but they're not. You replied "Yes." in two threads. You bumped countless threads, tons of them were even TEN PLUS YEARS OLD. I deleted these useless posts, that's why the post count is going down. You need to stop spamming around here to boost your post count. It's obvious you're just trying to get enough posts to get the higher privileges here. Please try not to do that.

I'm apologize but I have never used a forum (I guess you don't want me calling it a blog) so I don't know these rules or how any of that stuff works. The only reason I was motivated to join it because of my enthusiasm for initial d. I am sure you can respect that. By the way what does bumping mean?

Please https://idforums.net/index.php?act=boardrules We're glad to have you aboard, but you really needed to have read that first before posting.

Typical activity of a newbie that doesn't yet understand that concept of timestamps. I'm not really surprised. Since the accused has acknowledged that they are aware of the transgression, action will be taken if we see further problems.

Until then, it's another day on IDW.

so, post 50 - 100 times, could I go and honestly reply to topics and shit? or is that bumping even if am contributing to the thread. and not just picking threads at random but actual ones that I am interested in and want to give my opinion / want to request more info

Derogatory "Bumping" generally means replying on a thread more than one or two years old. We usually encourage activity in the board but replying on threads in which even the original poster (and the other people who have posted) cannot answer back because they've moved on from the board or banned, or whatever? Not something everybody likes seeing.

Try this. Remember a conversation you have had with a friend or your group yesterday. And then in the bus going to work or school a month after, suddenly blurt out loudly a reply to that conversation you have had to nobody in particular. Kinda off, eh?

But if you DO have a good opinion about the topic (and not on a mission to increase postcount in an hour), you can practically reply anywhere, the mods probably wouldnt mind.

If it's a thread from months ago, don't do that. We don't like that. Seriously. The whole reviving-a-topic-to-say-one-sentence-to-pump-my-post-count thing is really freaking annoying so don't do it. You'll just make people irritated.

If you have something to say in an active topic, though, then you shouldn't have to ask. happy.gif

Be honest, post honestly, and don't think of it as "reaching a goal", because that just means it's a job and not for fun.

As for unearthing dead threads, take a lesson from White Lines and d-d-d-d-d-don't do it. N1 and the other usual guys have the report function down to a science, and we will act very quickly to ensure it doesn't happen again. Unless you have a damn good reason to post in an ancient thread, keep it to yourself.

There are plenty of active threads here to post in, so have fun.

When you are reviving an old topic, only do it if you have relevant AND new information on the topic. If it's a rehash of what people already stated previously, even if it contributes to the topic, then don't revive the topic. When people see old topics being revived, they expect to see new material.

Now of course there are exception to that. If the topic is asking for opinions, then you can reply to it as long as it's relevant. There is no such thing as outdated personal opinion unless of course you have already replied to said thread before. smile.gif

I agree with everything I didnt quote, including the post above the post i quoted from, but not EVERY single forum member may have seen threads that are old. Yes they exist in the depths, and you can get there by clicking next page. But if you are like me and I assume a lot of people on the internet are, you only care about the ones on the front page because they are the ones with people replying and stuffs. And to those people, everything in those renewd topics is new and wonderful!! awesome.gif awesome.gif

this opinion isnt gonna mean that I am going to go post a bunch of old threads back to life, I am just saying that I browsed the forum for a long while before joining, and only stayed on pages 1 and 2, maybe if more people saw some threads that were a little old, they would join the ranks and be our new best friends evarr derp.gif

It might seem okay if only 1 or 2 people are doing it, but if a lot of people start needlessly necroing posts it can get pretty disorganized rather quickly. And that's why the staff has to be a bit strict about it.

If there really is a meaningful discussion to be had about the topic, then necroing is just fine. But otherwise, needless bumping just clutters the forum and makes it harder to find current and active threads.
